One of my favorite parts of being a designer is getting to watch my clients’ businesses come to life beyond the screen, in the real world.

Every time I stop by Café Minerva Café Minerva • Specialty Coffee Shop • Hermosa Beach , (which is often, because yum) I can’t help but smile. Not just because I designed the brand and, after 2 years, it’s still f*ckin' awesome, but because I get to see it becoming part of someone’s everyday experience.

One thing people don’t always realize until working together is that I get pretty attached to the businesses I work with, and I root for them looong after launch day!

You’ll probably find me popping in, grabbing a latte (or whatever product you sell), recommending you to friends, and celebrating every little win right alongside you. For me, the project doesn’t stop when I send the final files. 🖤

While a logo isn't the only thing that makes a strong brand that actually converts, it still plays a crucial role in your brand 😉

Having said that, I figured I'd jump on the .now trend and share logos I've designed in black and white. I may have missed the deadline 🫠 but it's still neat to see them in their glory at a glance.

It's rad to see how each one gives a different feeling, vibe and presence. Just one piece of their brand puzzle.

I'm proud of every single one of these and there are more to come! And in hindsight, it's wild to see how many have trusted me to take their brand to the next level 😭 Forever grateful.

Come with me to my brand client's coffee shop taste testing as they prepare for their grand opening now that they are cleared to open their doors. Basically, it was so tasty and I was so hopped on caffeine that I went home to deadlift a house. If you're in the South Bay, don't sleep on following them to make sure you know when they open their doors!

Perfectionism is my oldest personality trait.

In my business, I manage it by learning to trust people to help me. Slowly. Painfully. But learning nonetheless.

In my personal life, I manage it by trying to be less cruel to myself. Key word: trying.

I worked very hard, with many bumps in the road, to get my body healthy after many years of being medically gaslit. And somehow I can still find a way to pick it apart.

Body dysmorphia? Probably. Should I be in therapy for it? Also, probably. 🫠

It all likely stems from the 90s/early 00s waif supermodel body standards. None of it came from my mom, which means the world to me. Considering being a Latina from her generation (early baby boomer), she never once made me feel insecure about my body. Ever. I think about that a lot.

So here I am. Practicing being nicer to myself, appreciating what my body can do, and accepting compliments without deflecting.

Well damn y'all, s**t got real for a sec there, huh? 😬 if you made it this far, I hope you still decide to follow me (insert the millennial urge to end with an lol).
