Your holistic wellness business has grown. Does your brand reflect where you are today?

A strong brand does more than look beautiful. It helps people understand who you are, what you stand for, and the experience they can expect when they work with you.

For Paty De la Rosa-Acosta, we translated the vision for a bilingual doula practice into a warm, nurturing visual identity. We then carried that identity through her marketing materials, event presence, and website.

The result was a cohesive brand that reflected the heart of her work and helped her show up with confidence.

If your business has evolved but your branding has been pieced together over the years, it may be time for a refresh.

Let’s create a brand that reflects the business you’ve become and where you’re headed next.

Thank you Emily Hatt for seeing me through my own holistic wellness journey. You’ve seen me through long-covid, hot flashes, neck pain, muscles sprains, pinched nerves and more. Your Acupuncture knowledge and expertise continually help me move through and move forward!

What’s under your brand umbrella? ☂️

Your visual brand is way more than just your logo, or even your website and social posts. Your brand extends to every touch point. It’s how you show up at events, it’s the products you hand out, the fonts, colors, imagery, and tone you consistently use.

Wheb you are building a business, your brand may be pieced together along the way, and that’s ok. Startups have to be scrappy!

But as your business, services, and community grow, it may be time to take another look at all of the pieces.

Are they intentionally working together to expand your mission and your impact? Does your brand attract the right people, the ones who love what you’ve built, and can’t help but tell others about it?

If the pieces under your brand umbrella aren’t quite working all together, send me a message. I’d love to learn more about your holistic wellness business and the important work you are doing to support women.

A memorable brand is about more than how your business looks. It’s about how people feel when they experience it.

When my business partner, Kate, and I created Rowan Tree, we envisioned a women-centered space where members could work, connect, be well, and create, in the ways they needed it most.

As co-founder and creative director, I built the brand from the inside out, from its visual identity and messaging to the physical space, marketing materials, and everyday member experience.

At its height, Rowan Tree flourished. We grew to 150 members, with an 85% retention rate, and we hosted more than 500 hours of programming to support women in business, wellness, and more.

But the impact I’m proudest of is that, years later, the relationships formed there are still going strong.

That’s what thoughtful branding can help make possible: an identity that reflects your purpose, creates meaningful connections, and grows with your business.

Has your business evolved beyond its current brand? Let’s create an identity and experience that reflect who you are today and where you’re headed next.

Here’s a quick list of the top 7 golden nuggets I captured from the The CEO Woman Business Summit Intensive last week:

1. Don’t ghost yourself - if you put it on your calendar for you to work on something or step away from something, treat the appointment as you would any other item on your calendar. Thank you Kelly Featheringham of Kelly Featheringham

2. 9 am - 12 pm is my genius/productivity zone where I have energy, feel creative, want to talk to people, and I feel happiest so I should plan, delegate, and block my calendar accordingly. Thank you Bibi Goldstein of Virtual Assistant Services for the actionable tips.

3. Philanthropy tells the world about you and it shouldn’t be an after thought but rather can be infused into your business from the beginning. Thank you Julia Healey of United Charitable for opening my heart.

4. Automate the processes with our AI friends, personalize the output and the impact. And never send the first draft out of AI! Thank you Jillian Conley of The CEO Woman for teaching me something new.

5. Everything is FINE (Freakin Insanity Never Ends) - Life doesn’t pause, ever, so what are the processes I need to have in place if I couldn’t support my business tomorrow. Thank you Megan Clark, RICP® of Clark Financial Solutions for showing in real time how to go with the flow and stand tall through speed bumps that are life.

Stop wearing our stress badge of honor. Check in on the whole PIPE - my physical, intellectual, emotional, and purposeful energy. Thank you Jennifer Jen Stanford JenniferStanford for helping me see all the ways I may need to replenish.

7. “You can’t separate the growth of the business from the growth of the woman.”Thank you Tina Johnson for providing such an inspiring and beautiful network for women business owners to learn, laugh, cry, challenge themselves, build friendships, and grow! So grateful to you and the Sisterhood!

I’m looking for 5 women-owned businesses in the holistic wellness space who are ready to grow.

You’ve built an incredible business that supports women, but maybe your visual brand doesn’t feel quite like you anymore. Or maybe you’re getting ready to grow your community, expand your memberships, or introduce a new service and you want your brand to stand out.

This is the kind of work I love.

I help businesses take all of the heart, purpose, and really good work that’s already there and turn it into a brand that feels professional, distinctive, and true to who they are.

If you have something new on the horizon in the next few months, I’d love to hear about it.

I’m looking for 5 businesses. Maybe yours is one of them. 💗

Send me a DM or click on the link in the bio and let’s connect.

I did a lot of swimming this summer...but my favorite was this month.

In June, I swam in Delaware.
In July, I swam in Maryland.
In August, I swam in West Virginia.
And in September... I officially became SWaM certified in Virginia!

Soaring Heart Design Studio is now certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Small, Micro Women-owned business, opening up new opportunities to work with Virginia state agencies and organizations committed to supplier diversity.

Amazing news to wrap up the summer and celebrate Soaring Heart’s 6th birthday!

In my 20s my husband (then boyfriend) Eric Neuman used to encourage me to start my own business. I always rolled my eyes and thought, I don’t want to run my own business and do all of the admin stuff. I just want to create. Then I followed a wild idea and started Rowan Tree with my best friend Kate Viggiano Janich. My 20 year old self was wrong. Turns out my creative brain and wild ideas that never quite fit in the corporate world, flourished in the entrepreneurial space. Kate can confirm! But it’s wasn’t just my wild ideas, turns out I am a visionary and an integrator. I can visualize it, and I know how to roll up my sleeves and make it happen.

While running Rowan Tree, I met hundreds of women business owners. Each starting their own journey from a place of passion and purpose. I was drawn to support these women and to help bring the power of their business missions to life visually. I started doing some work on the side and on September 21, 2020, Soaring Heart was officially born (according to the SCC).

Today she is 6 years old. And while her role in my life at times was only part time and at other times fully present, I made the decision earlier this year to fully recommit to the business. I finally put two feet in and as a result the flood gates opened. The work rushed in, swirling around me, inspiring me, and softly telling me I’d made the right decision.

The journey is messy at times, but running Rowan Tree taught me so much about running a business. Kate and I created something incredible that still has a legacy today. And I simultaneously learned so much about operations, financials, marketing, taxes. You name it! But it also taught me to trust my gut, and that’s it’s ok to not know everything. I’ll figure it out, or I can figure out where to go for help. It taught me to be strategic with my wild ideas, and that when you lead with your heart, it can’t steer you wrong. Each lesson then has helped steer my direction now, and has helped me shape a business I’m proud to own and grow.

So here’s to 6 years and many more to come! Happy Birthday Soaring Heart Design Studio! You are my power, my passion, my purpose.

The PowHER Network event this morning was filled with great conversations and new doors opening. Thank you Chris Tran Ley of the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity for creating this awesome network for small women owned businesses. And for partnering with the # Loudoun Economic Development and Town of Leesburg Economic Development to bring this to Loudoun County. When women support other women, the mountains we can climb are even greater!

And an extra big thank you to Black Hoof Brewing for hosting!

I finally got to see the print version! Last fall I had the opportunity to design the fall issue of Alexandria Living Magazine. I loved learning about all of the hidden gems in Alexandria while working through the stories, images, and layouts. And while I repeatedly tried, I couldn't seem to track down the final printed version. This is often the case with printed things designers create. We make them and then send them to print, and rarely do the samples make it back to us.

In a fun twist, a high school teacher of mine happened to be staying in Alexandria and was flipped through the magazine when he saw my name. He brought it home with him and gave it to my uncle who then saved it and gave it me. Thank you Coach Slick - you have no idea how much that simple gesture meant to me!
