Kansas Press Association We are a member organization for Kansas newspapers. We can help with advertising too!

Kansas Press Association was organized in 1863 to serve, improve and promote the newspaper industry, and to protect the rights of a free press. Today, KPA continues its efforts by providing newspapers with marketing and educational services, legal and technology hotlines, legislative representation and a forum for the exchange of ideas. The association hosts conventions, conferences and seminars for the newspaper industry, and serves as a central source of industry information. Kansas Press represents more than 235 member newspapers throughout the state, including 35 dailies and approximately 200 weeklies.

This week, take a moment to thank the people behind your local newspaper.

They work long hours to cover breaking news, public meetings, community events, local sports, agriculture, business, education and the everyday stories that make Kansas communities unique.

Strong local newspapers help build stronger communities. Happy National Newspaper Week to newspapers across Kansas.

Every Kansas community has stories worth telling.

Local newspapers preserve history, spotlight people making a difference, recognize milestones and provide a trusted record of the moments that matter—from the smallest towns to the state’s largest cities.

This week, celebrate your local newspaper by subscribing, sharing a story, thanking a journalist or supporting the local businesses that advertise in it.

Democracy works better when communities have reliable local news.

Kansas newspapers attend the meetings, ask the questions, review the records and report the facts - helping citizens understand the decisions that affect their schools, taxes, roads, public safety and quality of life.

During National Newspaper Week, we honor the essential watchdog role of community journalism.
