Who else knows they should be posting and aren’t doing it? I tell all my clients and everyone on here to do it, but then I sit here overthinking what the message needs to be, how it should sound, if it’s strategic enough, if it’s “worth” putting out there.

As a business owner it’s hard. I literally tell my clients all the time, just post it. Consistency over perfection. Momentum over overthinking.

And then I catch myself doing the exact opposite.

Work’s busy, my wedding’s in a month, and things feel chaotic sometimes. My brain wants everything to be dialed. So instead of posting something simple, I tell myself I’ll film something later when I have it figured out, when the lighting or the location is better… and then shocker, I don’t post at all. 🤣🤦🏼‍♂️

✅ Most businesses don’t run local ads wrong because they’re careless.

👀 They run them wrong because they’re using ads for the wrong job. And that misunderstanding costs them real growth.

📌 Local buying doesn’t necessarily work like online buying.

People don’t sit around planning when they’re going to need a roofer, a contractor, a dentist, or a service provider.
They decide when something breaks, fails, or becomes urgent.

In that moment, they don’t compare options the way marketers think they do.

They call the business they already recognize.

Buy-now ads can work, but they still might not create real growth.

They catch demand that already exists, but they don’t build any.

When ads only show up when you’re asking for the sale, you’re already late. You’re trying to win trust in the same moment you’re asking for money.

Real local growth happens earlier than that.

It happens when people see you consistently.
When your name, your face, and your message feel familiar.
When trust is built quietly, long before a decision needs to be made.

Heard the same thing multiple times today on discovery calls: “one month we’re slammed, then it goes quiet.”
I want to say this clearly: that’s usually not a sales problem. It’s a visibility problem.

When referrals hit or timing is right, you get busy. It feels great. But you can’t repeat it on purpose. So when the wave passes, you’re back to hoping the next one shows up, and that’s when the scrambling starts.

The fix is simple: make sure new people are finding you every week, and make sure you follow up the same way every time so interest turns into booked calls.

The goal is not super exciting. The goal is actually kinda boring. It’s just predictability. You shouldn’t have to guess if your phone’s going to ring next week.
