Grief is a funny thing. For me, it comes in waves. Some holidays and anniversaries hit differently from year to year.
This year, what I’ve struggled with most is realizing that so many of my memories live only in my head. I can see them vividly, but I wish I had more of them to look at or hold in my hands.
My dad passed away before cell phones, social media, and digital cameras became part of everyday life. Capturing moments wasn’t as easy as it is today, and because of that, there are memories I wish had been preserved.
So if your dad is still here, take the extra picture. Record the candid video. Capture the ordinary moments that don’t seem important right now.
One day, you’ll be glad you did.

Now that Keith has shared it, I guess we can too.

I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out how to say this without it sounding like just “thank you for the opportunity,” because that’s not really what this is for me.

Yes, I’m grateful for the work. As a small business owner, that part matters a lot. But what I keep coming back to is Keith as a person.

His passion for Fort Leonard Wood and this community is something I saw firsthand when I worked at the Chamber, and it’s something that’s stayed with me. He genuinely cares about people and small businesses in Pulaski County and is a stand up guy if you ask me!

A few weeks ago, I hinted that I had some fun projects in the works. Here’s one of them!

TK’s Pizza wanted a menu that captured the nostalgia of a classic mom-and-pop pizzeria while incorporating the Route 66 heritage that’s such a big part of their story. The goal was to create something that felt like it had been part of the restaurant for years…warm, familiar, and full of character.

I love projects like this because great design isn’t just about making something look good. It’s about helping tell the story of a business and creating a connection before a customer ever takes their first bite.

If you’ve ordered from TK’s lately, you might’ve already seen the new menus making their way out on pizza boxes.

Attended the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce luncheon this afternoon. It's still surreal to be there as a member instead of as staff. The luncheon today was sponsored by Free Women's Center of Pulaski County, who we are proud to call one of our clients, but more than that we are proud to support their work in the community. It was great to see everyone and share a delicious meal, provided by Juicy Crab Shack!
