Bridgeforth Photographics Commercial/Industrial Photography. Family/Business Portraits. Photo Restoration. Hours by Appt. Call me when you need anything photographic: 540.665.9484.

I provide commercial, portrait, and industrial photography, as well as restoration services to both business and consumer clients in the Shenandoah Valley and DC Metro Regions. I assist business clients in looking their best to their audiences, while my portraits hang in many homes and businesses in the region. I hold AA and BFA degrees from Shepherd University; I've been shooting professionally f

or almost 34 years. You're invited to visit my website, Bridgeforthphoto.com to peruse the caliber of my work. My sessions, both portrait and commercial, are fun--I'm serious about what I do and how I do it, but it doesn't mean we can't have a bit of fun along the way. Few people truly enjoy having their picture taken, but I can find something for most anyone to smile about, and it's THAT moment which is captured. You will see your images at the time the work is done, and if you're not pleased, I'll continue to shoot and make adjustments until you are.

Colorfast. I photographed the installation of these 800 flags in the pouring rain. Yes my cameras and lenses cost 1000’s of dollars. No expensive electronics shouldn’t get wet. But those dedicated Rotary volunteers worked in the rain. Our military serves in ugly weather too. While it’s unfortunate there haven’t been as many visitors with the rain, the Healing Field of Honor remains a place of peace and remembrance, and I can create something beautiful even in less than ideal conditions. One of my adjunct photo professors ingrained in us that as professional photographers we make images not excuses. That lesson stays with me decades later. So yes I worked. In the rain. If they can do it, so can I.

Time Travels. Today I was shooting grad portraits for a nearby police academy. I had donated my dad’s academy notebooks to them from 1960, as he was Arlington County LEO 1960-65 and this academy trains the Arlington County officers. They returned the notebooks today as they weren’t official academy issue. Due to scheduling conflicts, I found myself with a couple hours to kill while waiting for the grads’ availability. I was a bit chapped at first, but then I eyed those notebooks that I’d never looked through before and started down a rabbit hole. Sometimes…a couple hours of downtime can have unexpected benefits. I never knew my dad could draw—that cover artwork is freehand. Just a kid in her cop-dad’s world. 💙

In Bloom. There’s nothing like the backlight of a sunset to warm any scene. Soft pink Japanese Cherry blossoms glowing in a golden sunset—almost like nature said, “look at me let’s show off a little.” Captured through a professional lens, every petal looks perfectly placed like they just knew I’d be along to appreciate them. These are the sorts of details I include in my commercial jobs—there’s always something unexpected to see, and I make sure my clients see it too.

Today ended outside with a camera in my hand, doing what I do, and a soon-to-be very happy client. When you can’t take your projects to your clients, my imagery will tell your story.

Anyone else out there who is absolutely fascinated by the imagery coming from the NASA Artemis mission? I can remember my dad when I was little watching moon flight coverage in the middle of the night (long before we had 24-hour news outlets 😂). I strive with my photo work to see the world differently—these folks have actually gone and done it.
