The steps softened as they touched the soil.
Each sound spoke of the landscape and its dweller.
The textures nurturing and abundant.
The present moment lifts the spirit as the sky opens to clouds.

We were honored to collaborate with the Franklin Park Conservatory on the Where Wonder Grows exhibition which runs Sept. 4th - Nov. 22nd.
Mental health and environmental health go hand in hand. In the urban environment things speed up. Sounds reverberate at a quicker speed, our lives become more fast paced delivered from one moment to another through alarms and notifications.

Nature and the pace it flows as the bugs are busy with pollen and the wind moves the leaves in the trees that absorb the worries and stresses of the day, we breathe fresh air.

How do we create symbiosis with human development and the natural world?

For this exhibition we created a space of reflection and observation, allowing the viewer to think about their place in nature and how we interact with it. When Franklin Park Conservatory asked us to create an immersive experience for the gallery space, We knew we wanted to spark curiosity, without overstimulating. A place of contemplation and inspiration. Specifically, inspiration by both the North Star Master Plan which the Conservatory has created as its plan and vision for the future and the four pillars represented on the screens, as well as nature itself and our place as humans within it.

The four pillars are:

Pillar 2: Inspire a Connection to Nature
Pillar 3: Create Lift Enhancing Experiences
Pillar 4: Cultivate Belonging for All People

We have a blast going on tour with Wakka Wakka’s Dead as A Dodo Production. Each new city we get to experience opens our eyes and spirits to what’s possible. Inspiration is key to creative longevity. For this tour we got to visit both Charleston, South Carolina and Bergen, Norway! What do the two have in common? A love for the Dead as a Dodo Productions by Wakka Wakka Productions. In Charleston we visited the International African American Museum, visited the 500 year old Angel Oak tree and also performed in Festival Hall at the Spoleto Festival “the nation’s preeminent performing arts festival, Spoleto produces and presents work of the highest artistic caliber to diverse and adventurous audiences”. We got to see the Scottish Ballet Perform Mary, Queen of Scots and it blew our minds….
And then we WENT to BERGEN NORWAY. Bergen (Bryygen) sits on the west coast of Norway and is an Unesco World Heritage city as well as the rainiest city in Europe. The rain suits it so well you are glad to have it! Ha! In Bergen we got to meet another amazing performance company, Small Island Big Song, who also have a Dodo in their show One Ocean! We performed in the Peer Gynt Hall at the Grieghallen theater in the Bergen International Festival, Scandinavian’s largest music and performing arts festivals.

We are super pumped to be part of the LOOM, a fashion incubator and cultural hub, offering everything from office and coworking space to creative studios, new equipment, and vibrant event spaces in downtown Columbus. We are excited to be part of this growing community and are already starting on collaborations. In this piece we are projecting on the Artwork of Artist Andrew Lundberg. She is such a beautiful mural and we wanted to bring her to life by opening her eyes. What is she thinking about? Her gaze is purposeful and confident.

Moving through the sublime, light mimics waves, celestial landscapes, and deep dwelling emotions. Through projection and classical compositions OBLSK and Callisto Quartet presented an evening filled with visual and musical landscapes. Thank you McConnell Arts center for hosting the performance, the Q&A and the wonderful reception after. We loved hearing the thoughts from the audience.
The Callisto Quartet is a talented ensemble and it was wonderful to watch and hear their expertise and passion behind the scenes.

The Columbus Fashion Alliance (CFA) is a keystone in moving fashion forward here in Columbus and the surrounding region. We have been super pumped to be able to collaborate with the CFA on multiple projects including the Infrared Show, a retail pop up shop created by the Future of Fashion Cohort, Under the Current, a downtown festival that celebrates public art, and performance, and The LOOM event center, a new and upcoming space to hold events as well as the CFA future Headquarters.
