You get to do the work that matters.
You get to decide what to focus on.
You get to dream big, dream unfettered.

And visibility.... this will continue to be important, whether you're starting something new, hustling with a side gig, or growing your small business. And that's a good thing.

It's opportunity.

To show your audience who you are and what you stand for.
To clearly articulate how you help.

So, go on. Tell them.

My writing process

I almost always add a call-to-action (CTA) at the end of my article. It’s a marketing term, but for me, it’s also a way to prompt connection. I also want you to take action.

I don’t want you to guess what to do next – I spell it out. Maybe, to get you to add a comment (just to jumpstart a dialogue). Maybe, to check out another article I’ve written. Or sometimes, to sign up for a program I’m delivering (I launched From Vision to Voice: A 4-Week Visibility Sprint for Women who Do Great Work with Krista Goon on 1 September).

I’m not writing just for the heck of it.
I want to mobilise you.
I want you to feel something, to do something, to get you curious, or motivated. Otherwise, I’d feel the article missed the mark.

Six years ago, I took a leap to start this beautiful business called Digital Confluence. Helping small (and big) businesses with their thought leadership, content stratetgy, social media marketing and more. I've worked within an agency environment, with remote teams, consulted, mentored and coached. I've trained, facilitated workshops and given talks.

I'd like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who believed in what I could do, in my vision for my business and to every person who's supported me along the way.

I'm having so much fun and so grateful to have the opportunity to do such meaningful work. And there's so much more to come.

Are you putting all your eggs in one basket?

I know several business owners who swear by social media presence alone. They can market and sell well through these third-party platforms. It may cost little or not at all, thats the allure. Why would I need a website, right?

Well, you're not in full control, for one. I have heard of several small business owners (who rely purely on social media to market their products and connect to audiences) finding themselves locked out of their social media accounts due to perceived irregularities.

It's the increased use by social media platforms of AI content moderation tools. And sometimes, these tools get it wrong.

I find it useful to have multiple customer touchpoints and my website is very important as my business's home. This is where everything sits and where everyone ultimately gets directed to.
