I was really happy with the response to my last post about Irish-language adverts. It’s great to see how alive the language is, and how many people care about supporting it.

Hard to believe LinkedIn still won’t run video ads in Irish, even during Seachtain na Gaeilge. Irish is spoken every day across the country, and it feels wrong that it’s not treated like any other language on the platform.

I’d really like to see that change. Every little bit we do to make Irish visible online matters, and it’s brilliant to see so many people getting behind it.

I had a chat with Fachtna on the Tús Aite show on Raidió na Gaeltachta about my business and about advertising on LinkedIn. I explained to him that a video advert I tried to put up on LinkedIn’s advertising platform was rejected because Irish is not recognised by them as a supported language.
