Don't give up your computer or privacy. Come see us starting November 1st and get Microsoft out of your business for only $100. Come in for a real tune-up at Always Thinking Computers and we’ll clean it up, speed it up, lock it down the right way, and cut the Microsoft nonsense that’s been quietly working against you.

Microsoft just gave its AI the keys to your computer. Literally.

This week Microsoft announced that Copilot the AI built into Windows is getting the power to open and read the files on your PC. Your documents. Your downloads. Your photos. In their own demo, they showed it digging up someone's tax records and drafting an email to their accountant. Without being asked twice.

They say it's opt-in. They say you'll stay in control. But let's be real: how many of us actually read those permission popups before clicking "allow"? And once an AI can read everything, what exactly is stopping it from remembering everything?

Windows now runs on 1 billion devices. That's 1 billion computers where your private files are one "helpful" AI feature away from being an open book.

Be honest do you actually trust an AI to poke around in your personal files? Where would YOU draw the line?

If your mom, your sister, or your best friend has a Windows computer, they need to know about this before they click "allow" on the next update.

AI can clone your wife’s, kid’s, or parent’s voice from a 10-second TikTok. The call will sound like them. Caller ID can even show their number. That’s not science fiction anymore that’s this week.

If someone who “sounds like family” calls and needs a card number, cash app, gift cards, or a wire right now:

1. Hang up. Always. A real emergency survives a 60-second callback.

2. Call THEM back from the number already saved in your phone. Never the number that just rang you. Never a number they read off.

3. Pick a family safe word today. Something dumb and private. “Purple waffle.” “Uncle Larry’s boat.” Not a pet name you posted in 2019. If they can’t say it, it’s not them.

4. Ask a question only they would know. “What did we eat last night?” “What’s on the fridge magnet?” AI has the voice. It does not have last Tuesday.

5. Nobody paying for gas needs your full card number read over the phone. Stations have tap/chip. Family who actually forgot a wallet can FaceTime you, use Apple Pay / Google Wallet, or wait 10 minutes.

6. Urgency is the product. “Don’t tell anyone.” “Stay on the line.” “They’re going to tow the car.” That’s the script. The second they fight you hanging up, you’re done talking.

7. Do not stay on the call “to investigate.” You’re just giving them more audio to clone next time.

Set the safe word with your spouse and kids tonight, not after the call. Then tell your parents the same rule in plain English: if it sounds like us and they want money or a card number, hang up and call the number you already have.

Report it: reportfraud.ftc.gov and ic3.gov. Put “AI voice” in the complaint so it actually gets counted.

The voice is fake. The callback is real. Use the callback.
