Eight local businesses. 1.4 million views. The same five things in every single thumbnail.

I lined up eight of the highest performing local business thumbnails I could find. Dentists, HVAC techs, roofers, real estate agents, kitchen remodelers, lawyers, dermatologists.

Not influencers. Not full time creators. Local business owners working with the same phone and the same budget you have.

I expected eight different approaches. What I found was one formula wearing eight different outfits.

Here's why AI recommends your competitor instead of you, even when your firm is better.

AI search doesn't ask who's the best. It asks who's the most consistent.

Your business name on your website. Your address on Google Business Profile. Your phone number on Apple Maps. Your listing on Yelp. If any of those don't match exactly, AI treats you as less credible and picks someone it trusts more.

A missing suite number. An outdated phone number. A slightly different version of your firm's name. Small gaps, but they're exactly what AI uses to decide who shows up when a client asks a question about a firm like yours.

Most firms lose this before the client ever sees a website. They lose it in the data.

Want to know exactly where your firm's listings are inconsistent? Reply and I'll take a look.

The person Googling a criminal defense lawyer at 2am usually isn't the one who got arrested.

It's his mom. Or the wife who just got a call she'll never forget.

She's terrified, she doesn't understand how any of this works, and she's typing questions into Google and YouTube hoping someone calm answers back.

Right now, that someone is almost never the local defense attorney. Not because he isn't good at his job. Because he's never put the answers where scared people are actually looking.

Here's what I keep telling the attorneys I work with. You already answer these questions every week on the phone.

- What to do in the first 24 hours after an arrest.
- Whether it's smart to say anything to police.
- The real cost of a defense.
- Whether a charge follows someone for the rest of their life.

Every one of those is a video. And a video that answers the exact thing a person is losing sleep over becomes the reason they trust you before they ever call.

So I put together the 12 I'd film first, in the order a real client moves through it, from the panic to the decision to hire. It's in the graphic.

If you run a defense practice, tell me which one you'd film first. I'll tell you how I'd shoot it.

Google crawls written content. YouTube surfaces video. When
you create both on the same topic, your ideal client can find
you twice in one search.

The workflow: film the video, transcribe it, shape the
transcript into a blog post with your target keyword, link
each to the other. One idea. Two placements. Both get
stronger.

That is compounding content. Most professional service firms
never build it.

"Financial advisor near me." "Estate attorney in Houston."
Google decides who shows up for those searches. That decision
is not random.

It runs on signals you can control: a fully completed Google
Business profile, real client reviews that mention your
service and city, consistent posts, and a website that matches
your profile exactly.

Most firms in your market are ignoring all of this. The bar
is low. The opportunity is real.

Local SEO is still one of the highest-return investments a
professional service firm can make.
