Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not only in remembrance, but in responsibility.

We share moments from behind the scenes of our upcoming documentary series with , “When Faith Calls”—a project rooted in Dr. King and Coretta Scott King’s faith, legacy, and ongoing call to build the Beloved Community.

Dr. King’s life reminds us that storytelling is not neutral nor is non-violence passive. His words had the power to challenge systems, restore dignity, and move people toward action.

At Lark Media, we remain committed to telling stories that hold history with care and push us toward a more just world—pairing belief with action through our voices, our craft, and our platforms.

Last Wednesday, January 8th, the trailer for “When Faith Calls” was shared at a press conference at The King Center, with Dr. Bernice A. King leading the moment.

This marks the first official King Center docu-series centered on how faith shaped Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King as leaders of the civil rights movement–a sacred responsibility and an extraordinary honor.

To stand in partnership with the amazing folks at the King Center (I’m looking at you & ), alongside Ashley Woods, Dr. Lewis Baldwin and The Luster Company, with Lark Media producing, and support from the Lilly Endowment, is a milestone moment for us.

Countless hands, hearts, and minds have shaped this work so far–and this is only the beginning.

Deeply grateful for the trust placed in us to help steward this story.

Now that we’re fully in post-production, we finally have a chance to pause and show you behind the scenes of the civil and human rights stories we’ve been honored to tell.

This is our lane — documenting history, championing change-makers, and creating films, series and exhibitions that spark impact. Our whole team agrees: this work matters more than ever, and we’re grateful every day to tell these stories.

Hey friends, it’s time for an update. 💬

1. This year has been a rollercoaster ride, and I want to share where I’ve been personally and where we’re headed as a company. This Friday… we’re launching Lark Media MERCH!!! 🌈🎥

2. This year has brought incredible highs—moments of success and creativity. 🙌🏽 But it also tested us in ways we never expected. Some days, we felt like giving up. 💔 We started production on THREE indie films, none of which are in a position to bring in revenue yet BUT they do what we set out to do: change the world through film.

When I felt like giving up, I looked at my mom who channeled her grief of losing her husband into preserving a historic building into a museum in her home country of Liberia. Because when things get hard, WE GO HARDER. 💪🏽
