One of my favorite things about Little Guide Augusta is getting to introduce y'all to the people behind the businesses that make our community so special ❤️
Melissa Detchemendy isn't just an attorney. She's an Augusta girl through and through.
Melissa grew up in Augusta, attended Alleluia High School, and continued her education at Augusta College, where she played both basketball and volleyball. After earning her law degree from Indiana University, she came back home to Augusta and has spent the last 22 years helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives.
In August 2024, Melissa took a leap of faith and opened her own firm, bringing with her decades of experience, a servant's heart, and a commitment to treating every client like family.
And family truly is everything to her.
She's the oldest of eight siblings, aunt to fourteen nieces and nephews, proud grandmother to one little one with another on the way, and loves spending time with her spouse, their dogs, and the people she loves most. When she's not fighting for her clients, you might find her playing guitar or viola, enjoying a quiet evening at home, or making memories with family.
What stood out to me most when I met Melissa was how deeply she cares. She doesn't see people as case numbers. She gets to know her clients, visits them in their homes when needed, gives them her personal cell phone number, and walks beside them every step of the way.
She knows that an accident can turn someone's life upside down in an instant. That's why she works tirelessly to stand up to insurance companies and fight for the people who deserve to be heard.
Strong, compassionate, hardworking, and deeply rooted in our community, Melissa is exactly the kind of local business owner I'm honored to support.
We're so proud to have Detchemendy Law as part of the Little Guide Augusta family ❤️
