Brian At Little Guide I grew up in Augusta, shaped by its music, art, and incredible small businesses.

I had the pleasure of grabbing a coffee with Bradd Sasser of William Sasser Guide Service yesterday. You see, dear reader, I have spent countless hours fishing Clarks Hill Lake(I will never call it Lake Thurmond). From summers spent there as a kid, fishing with my grandmother and my cousins, to days as an adult on a boat chasing largemouth bass with my stepdad and my dad. So William and I speak the same language, and it was a very entertaining conversation.

Bradd grew up putting folks on fish, alongside his Dad, William, eventually taking over the family business. His grandfather, Carl, was widely known as the best crappie fisherman on Clarks Hill Lake. So it's safe to say that fishing runs in the genes where the Sassers are concerned.

Bradd's specialty is live bait fishing for stripers, and because he knows the seasonal rhythms of the lake and that species of fish, he is really good at it. Folks booking charter trips with Bradd often limit out well before their charter time is up.

It was fun to learn about a very unique business model and talk a little bit about his plans moving forward.

Folks, we are currently putting together the 2027 edition of Little Guide. If you would like to see your business featured in the pages of our guide, message us here. I would be happy to explore that idea with you.

Have you met Kerry at Allegiance Ink? She is one half of the dynamic, married duo that makes the studio go, along with her hubby, Philip. Open since 2011, this artist collective prides itself on giving back to the community! They support organizations such as Nuci's Space, The American Cancer Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Aside from that, they are highly thought of in Augusta, regularly receiving glowing reviews that talk about the cleanliness, relaxed atmosphere and just plain cool people at Allegiance Ink. And that's AFTER you get past the very positive claims about their artistry and craftsmanship!

That's why I am proud to announce that they have trusted us with some of their marketing efforts for the next two years! We are elated to recommend Allegiance Ink Tattoo as a member of the Little Guide family of businesses.

If you have a business you would like to see featured in the 2027 edition, we are working on it as we speak. Just message me here and we can meet to explore that idea.

Brian At Little Guide here. Yesterday, I had such a fantastic conversation with the young lady pictured here. Meet Arisa Thongsri, the owner of a fabulous new restaurant on James Brown Boulevard(right behind Laziza) called SUEA "เสือ". A native of Thailand, Arisa settled in Augusta and felt she was unable to find any un-Americanized Thai cuisine. So she decided to open Suea to fix that problem.

As we talked, she related having to overcome a myriad of roadblocks and challenges to make her vision a reality. What I slowly began to realize as the conversation went on was that I was sitting in front of someone with true passion and a fierce tenacity. Don't tell Arisa she CAN'T do something, if you don't really want her to do it...because she'll get it done.

What you can expect at Suea is fresh ingredients, an upscale presentation, and absolute authenticity(a rare bird in these parts) in an elegant, very near fine dining atmosphere. You should go see them.

If you are a business owner and would like to see yourself in the Little Guide family of businesses, we'd love to talk. Just introduce yourself in a message here in the DMs or comments. Little Guide 2027 is in the making as we speak.

Brian At Little Guide here! Have you met Daniella Fritsch of Patagonia Candle Company, soon to transition to the moniker The Mountain Soul Candle Co? I did, and she's an amazing human being. This native of Chile moved to the Augusta area decades ago, falling in love with our community and eventually becoming a naturalized United States Citizen, and her life since has been one adventure after another.

With the birth of her children, she eventually left behind an overly demanding career as an architect to slow things WAY down and become very intentional. That's where The Mountain Soul Candle Co. comes in. I enjoyed learning about her passion for what she does and her measured approach to her products. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Her candles smell amazing, and frankly, unlike any I've smelled before. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Daniella much success as she endeavors to grow her brand in the coming years.

If you'd like to meet with me to share your business story and learn more about Little Guide Augusta, simply message us here. We are putting together the 2027 edition now.

Almost forgot to tell you all!

Brian At Little Guide on the block once again! Lately, I've been waxing sentimental about some of our longest-running business partners, and with good reason. Through business, we've made not just partners, but friends. I'll say it over and over again until I run out of breath...I'll take a deep breath, and say again. Because IT'S THE BEST PART OF MY JOB!

Boll Weevil Cafe is part of the Little Guide Augusta DNA. We've been happily partnered up since the very first edition back in 2018. Y'all know 'em. Y'all love 'em. The last time we posted about Boll Weevil, it was viewed nearly 150,000 times by nearly 100,000 people. Folks nearly went into a panic because they thought the new ownership was gonna change those world-famous cakes.

Well...allow me to clarify. Rafael Gonzalez has been the "new" owner for a few years now, and the cakes will not be changed(because what kind of lunatic would do that?!).

We are deeply grateful for our partnership/friendship with Rafael and the Boll Weevil crew! That's why I'm glad to announce that our partnership will continue, as Boll Weevil will be featured in the 2027 edition of Little Guide.

If you have a business you'd like to see featured in Little Guide, don't hesitate to slide into our DM's.

On a side note, I'm pleased to announce that Chenin Ludwig(pictured here) will be joining our team as Market Director in Fernandina Beach with Little Guide Amelia Island. Welcome aboard, Chenin!
