🍎 Okay teacher friends and school families... I have a new idea I'm REALLY excited about!

I'm getting ready to order a roll of thick white banner paper so I can start offering Back-to-School Coloring Banners! 🎨

Imagine a giant banner for your classroom that students can help color during the first week of school! They can be completely personalized (teacher name, grade, theme, etc.) or open-ende. I'll even tailor the designs to the age group — simple coloring pages for little learners or more detailed doodle/zentangle-style designs for older students.

While we're talking back-to-school...

🍎 Teachers: It's never too early to reserve your custom classroom door or "Welcome Back" banner! August sneaks up fast, and I'd love to make sure you have yours ready before school starts.

📸 Parents: I'm also working on fun personalized first-day-of-school banners and pennants! Think adorable photo props with your child's name, grade, age, favorite color, what they want to be when they grow up... all those little details you'll love looking back on years from now.

This might be my favorite season yet. 😊 I have so many fun ideas I can't wait to bring to life!

The range is… extensive. 😂

🏀 “Sports balls.”

🎂 “More is more.”

👾 “Can you make it look like Birthday Ninja exploded with all my favorite things?”

Challenge accepted. 🤩 (top two are still in progress)

💙 A full-circle moment. 🦁

Twenty years after graduating from Bexley High School, I had the opportunity to create the welcome banner for our Class of 2006 reunion.

Although I wasn’t able to attend the reunion myself, it was so special to see photos of everyone gathered around something I had the privilege of creating. Then I found out the banner got a second life the very next day as the backdrop for the Class of 2006 float in the Bexley Fourth of July Parade! 🇺🇸💙

As an artist, there’s something incredibly rewarding about creating pieces that become part of people’s celebrations and memories. That’s exactly why I love what I do.

A huge thank you to reunion organizer Kelly Maxey for trusting me with such a meaningful project. It was an honor to be a small part of celebrating 20 years of memories.

If you have a reunion, school event, graduation, birthday, baby shower, or another special celebration coming up, I’d love to create something uniquely yours.

🏈❤️🤍 My first-ever Brutus banner! ❤️🤍🏈

This one was so much fun to create for a Buckeye-bound graduate. I had never painted Brutus before, and I have to admit, those little details were a fun challenge!

One of my favorite parts might actually be the silhouettes making the O-H-I-O hand signs. Such a simple detail, but it instantly screams Ohio State and adds so much personality to the design.

Every banner I paint is completely custom and hand-painted from start to finish, so getting to create something new like this keeps the process exciting every time.

Life outside of painting. 🎨🐾

I realized recently that I hardly have any pictures of myself with Ollie, so I asked my almost-9-year-old son to snap one for me.

Anyone who knows Ollie knows that being close to his people is one of his favorite things. Whether I’m painting, working around the house, or relaxing on the couch, he’s usually right there beside me.

Running this little business keeps me busy, but moments like this are a good reminder to slow down and appreciate the things that matter most.

Just me and my best buddy. ❤️

One of my most recent banners was this fun little mini-size graduation banner (about 3 ft x 18 in), and let me tell you... this one came with a story. 😂

The first version was nearly finished when it was unexpectedly destroyed by a very determined tiny human. No further comment. 😅

So I started over, and as frustrating as it was at the time, the remake ended up being a blessing in disguise. While painting the second version, I stumbled across a couple new techniques that really helped refine my process and improve my lettering and painting. Funny how that works sometimes.

This banner also earned the title of my unofficial "bad luck banner." Along the way, I dealt with an exploding black posca marker, sliced my finger trimming the edges and somehow managed to drop the finished package into my dog's water bowl. Thankfully it was already sealed in plastic, so disaster was avoided!

Despite all the chaos, this one ended up being one of my favorites. I loved the bright colors, trendy sticker-inspired graphics, and beachy summer vibes. It's always fun getting to create something a little different from my usual style.

Every banner is hand-painted and custom designed to fit the person, event, and personality it's celebrating—and sometimes they come with a memorable story, too. 💚

Now booking summer birthdays, graduation parties, bridal showers, baby showers, classroom banners, and more!
