Can I party with you?

I enjoy photographing w**e events of all shapes and sizes. I like capturing the energy of events. Some are high-energy with lots of laughter and action, and some are more serious and contemplative.

I like, even more, finding different perspectives from which to photograph them. If there’s a balcony or a catwalk I can photograph from above, you best believe I’ll be getting up there.

I also like finding little details to photograph, like someone standing with a glass behind their back as they chat, or

I like photographing the food (especially if I get invited to eat it, too). I like watching guests interact with each other. I like seeing the aftermath, with empty glasses with lipstick on the rim and labels with w**e drips on them.

In short, events are fun, and I want to photograph more of them! So if you’re planning some kind of shindig and need a photographer, send me a message! I can even take over your Instagram for the duration of the event and post stories for you in real time so you can focus on your guests instead of your phone!

I love photos where you can almost hear what's going on in the scene.

The creak and drip of the press as the w**emaker tastes the freshly pressed juice, the rumble of the tractor and banter of the harvest crew, the muffled thuds of hundreds of grapes falling out of the destemmer.

Harvest is so full of great action like this; I'm grateful to be a fly on the wall (or perhaps an earwig in the bra, as the case may be)

Harvest, in three formats. I’ve been bringing my film cameras out into the field with me again this harvest and while I love and have talked endlessly about the pleasure of slowing down with film, harvest is so fast-paced it’s difficult to slow down too much.

Interestingly enough though, the few digital photos I’ve included in this roundup are photos that I was able to slow down for and compose more intentionally, whereas most of the film photos in this roundup required me to be a bit more nimble.

Bottling… in Black & White.

This is one of those w**emaking practices that I think w**eries find kind of boring to show, particularly if you use a mobile line, but I find creatively challenging (in a fun way!)

There’s lots of leading lines and frames within frames you can use and even if it’s not exciting to you, it’s a good way to tease upcoming releases to your customers (like **es new labels 👀)

Showing it in black & white strips it down, too, and admittedly makes some of the interior photos look better because those bottling line lights aren’t the sexiest.

Bottle P**n: A brief rundown of the different types of bottle photography and when & where you might use them

Not all bottle shots serve the same purpose. There are three types every w**ery should have in their asset library:

The knockout: A cleanly lit, professional image of your bottle, isolated against a white or transparent background. Best for your online shop.

The "Beauty" Shot: These photos are stylized and are often photographed in a studio. These can be used on social media, website homepages, print and digital ads, your w**ery brochure, etc.

The lifestyle shot (Or what I like to call bottles in the wild): These photos show your product in situ. These shots tend to do really well on social media, websites, and in email newsletters, but they also look great in publications and in digital ads.
