Book Strut is not a marketplace, not a recommendation widget, and not another algorithm guessing what readers might like. It is the world’s first Explainable Book Matching platform. Book Strut matches books to readers at the idea level and then shows the math behind the match. There is no black box, no keyword roulette, and no popularity bias skewing the results. It will cost you nothing to list your first book worldwide!
Here’s how it works:
Authors do not upload full books. Instead, you define your book by writing three complete idea sentences, ranked in order of importance, describing what the book actually delivers. You also provide a cover image, an author photo, a description, and a short audio clip called a podblurb. Book Strut’s proprietary technology, STRUT, semantically interprets your ranked ideas and measures how strongly they show up where they matter most.
Readers do the same thing. They enter and rank the three ideas they care about right now. STRUT then compares the reader’s ranked ideas to the author’s ranked ideas and produces idea-by-idea scores, not vague relevance signals. Every score is position-aware, capped, and explainable.
Example. An author defines their book as:
1. “This book teaches founders how to validate startup ideas before building.”
2. “It explains customer discovery clearly, without buzzwords.”
3. “It shares real startup failures and lessons learned.”
A reader ranks:
1. “I want practical ways to validate startup ideas.”
2. “I hate jargon and theoretical fluff.”
3. “I want real-world examples.”
STRUT scores the match as:
• Idea 1: 34.8
• Idea 2: 32
• Idea 3: 25.65
Total STRUT Score: 92.45
The reader doesn’t guess why the book fits—they see it. Nothing else in the world works like this. Book Strut doesn’t hide relevance. It proves it.
