This year's annual UIC Urban Forum hosted by the University of Illinois Chicago brought together impactful speakers and held space for engaging conversations on the future of urban communities.

This year's theme was “Public service in a changing America” and highlighted topics such as the importance of public libraries, environmental policy, and public safety when it comes to immigration.

JT was proud to provide social media and event services for the Urban Forum once again this year!

On May 5, more than 200 people with disabilities, advocates, and supporters gathered at the Illinois State Capitol for They Deserve More’s “Action Day” to call for higher wages for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

The event highlighted the essential role DSPs play in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and urged lawmakers to invest in Illinois’ community support system. Advocates met with legislators throughout the day to push for stronger funding and workforce support.

JT supported communications and digital engagement efforts for the event, helping amplify the campaign’s message and mobilize supporters across the state.

We’re deeply saddened to share the passing of Anne-Marie St. Germaine, who was a senior vice president at a formative time in JT’s history.

To say she made amazing contributions would sell her short. Anne-Marie helped shape the foundation of who we are today. She meant so much to all of us, and we wouldn’t be the firm we are without her.

A true leader and force in the Chicago civic and business community, Anne-Marie made her mark far beyond our walls. Her work with the Chicago Botanic Garden and the City Club reflected her deep commitment to service and to the city she loved.

She was a great light who fought to the very end, passing away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

We are grateful for her legacy, her leadership, and the lasting impact she leaves behind. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

This week, A Better Chicago released their second annual State of Our Youth report, examining the challenges and barriers youth in our city and discussing ways Chicago can respond to support their futures. Hundreds of educators, nonprofit and policy leaders attended the March 31 event where the report was discussed in a panel discussion moderated by A Better Chicago Board member and former CPS CEO Dr. Janice Jackson.

One of the most urgent insights from the report is chronic absenteeism—more than 40% of CPS students missed more than 10% of the 2025 school year.

To address this challenge, A Better Chicago recently launched Every Day Counts, an initiative committing at least $10 million over the next five years to help strengthen student attendance.

Congrats to the A Better Chicago team for their leadership and for fostering a community aimed at improving and investing in the lives of youth.

The JT team was proud to work with A Better Chicago on this project, supporting the development of this year’s State of Our Youth report, coordinating media outreach and assisting with event planning/logistics.

Thank you, A Better Chicago, for trusting JTPR as your partner!
