Yesterday, in honor of Women’s Equality Day, our She@TRG ally group hosted its third annual panel on the progress we’ve made toward women’s equality, the challenges that remain, and how we can create more equitable workplaces.
We were honored to welcome:
Cindy Blum, Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy at Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores
Audrey Berger, Cofounder and CEO of Drumline
Carolyn Mungo, President and General Manager of WFAA Channel 8
Rane Butler, Vice President of Team and Client Experience at Venturity
The conversation covered everything from finding your voice early in your career to the importance of listening, asking questions, and creating opportunities for others. And while we’ve made extraordinary progress, as one panelist reminded us, “Progress doesn’t mean equality.”
Our panelists left us with plenty of wisdom: You’re stronger than you think. Don’t chase titles; chase experience. Mistakes are part of the journey, so don’t be afraid of them. And when it comes to balancing work and life, “having it all” starts with defining what “all” means to you.
Thank you to our panelists for sharing their experiences and perspectives, and to our own Kendall Kerr and Elle Collazo for leading such a thoughtful conversation.
We’re still feeling our “Wonder Woman stance.” (A little inside joke for those who were there.)
