Where Love Lives and Compassion Grows

Some partnerships mean a little more. Avallo is incredibly proud to be a longtime website partner and supporter of Crescent Cove, a remarkable Minnesota nonprofit providing respite and hospice care for children with life-threatening conditions and support for their families.

Their annual Everlight Gala, January 30, 2027, is a wonderful opportunity to come together and make a difference.

Last year's gala raised an amazing $520,000! This year, Crescent Cove is looking for sponsors, auction donations, and guests to help make the evening another success. We encourage our friends, clients, and fellow businesses to get involved. It's a beautiful cause that deserves our community's support. In 30 years, we’ve watched technology, businesses, and the way people search change dramatically. One thing we’ve learned along the way is that a good website is never really finished. Your business changes. Your customers change. Google changes. Technology changes. And now AI is changing the way people search for businesses, products, services, and answers. Your website needs to change right along with them. Learn more about Avallo can help your website grow with your business: https://avallo.com/blog/your-website-should-grow-with-your-business

Website Wednesday!

Clean water deserves a great website, too.

Avallo designed and developed the website for West Metro Water Alliance, an organization helping communities protect our lakes, rivers and streams through education and everyday action.

The website needed to make a lot of important information easy to find, from resources for residents and educators to information about native plants, Adopt-a-Drain, chloride pollution, pet waste and ways people can help protect local water. We created a clean, approachable website that organizes all of those resources while making it easy for visitors to learn, explore and take action.

We love working on websites that don't just look good, but help organizations make a difference in their communities. Take a look at the site: westmetrowateralliance.org

Sometimes a new website needs a little more than a new website.

When we started working with WMWA on their new site, we realized their existing logo needed an update to work with the new design and better represent the organization today.

So, before we got too far into the website, we refreshed the logo and created a brand direction that could carry through the entire project, from colors and typography to graphics, icons and the website itself.

It wasn't about changing who WMWA is. It was about giving their brand a fresh, consistent look that would work better online and give us a strong foundation for the new website.

Here's a look at the before and after. Sometimes a website project is also the perfect time to take a fresh look at your brand.

10 locations. Hundreds of photos. One completely new website!
We’re excited to share the new website Avallo recently launched for American National Bank of MN!

This project went far beyond designing a new website. We wanted the site to feel like the communities and people American National Bank serves.

🦅 We coordinated professional photography shoots at all 10 bank locations, capturing the branches, team members, customers, and local communities.

🦅 We photographed their team so visitors can see the real people behind the bank, not stock photography.

🦅 We created individual pages for all 10 locations, giving each branch its own place to highlight local information, photography, and team members.

🦅 We created and optimized the website content for SEO, including local search, and structured it to help the bank be better understood by today's AI-powered search tools.

🦅 We refined the existing American National Bank logo and carried the refreshed branding throughout the new website.

The result is a website that feels much more personal, local, and connected to the communities American National Bank of MN serves. Take a look at the new site: https://www.anbmn.com/

Another great Avallo project that brought together web design, development, photography, branding, content and search strategy.

We moved the office.
We moved the desks.
We moved the computers.
We moved 30 years of stuff we probably should have thrown away.

And now we have one more thing to do: fill a desk.

We’re looking for a Front-End Web Developer to join our team.

Someone who knows HTML, CSS and JavaScript, has a good eye for design, and enjoys turning creative ideas into websites that actually work.

This is an in-house position, working with our Avallo team on everything from small business websites to some pretty complex custom projects.

Do you know a talented Front-End Developer who might be ready to make a move? Have them contact us. We already did the heavy lifting. https://avallo.com/contact-us

Throwback to 1996: The First Website Avallo Ever Built

When Avallo started in 1996, one of our very first clients was Mackay Photopak. In fact, theirs was the first website we ever created. We went on to work with Mackay Photopak for nearly 20 years, designing websites and other marketing materials as both of our businesses changed along with technology. At the time, photography was a very different world. Photo processing, printed photographs, specialty photo envelopes, catalogs and other physical products were an important part of the industry. Mackay Photopak had an extensive line of products designed specifically for that market.

Then came digital photography, online photo sharing, smartphones and an entirely different way of storing and sharing our memories. The photography industry changed dramatically, and businesses serving that industry had to change with it. Today, Mackay Photopak is part of MackayMitchell Envelope, continuing a much longer history in the printing and envelope industry.

We thought it would be fun to pull out some of the old Mackay Photopak envelope designs, catalogs and website work from the Avallo archives. They are a great reminder of just how much has changed since 1996.

The digital world changed Mackay Photopak's business. It changed Avallo's business, too. Thirty years in technology means you don't just watch technology change. You watch entire industries evolve, and you learn to evolve right along with them. Thanks, Mackay Photopak, for trusting a brand-new web company back in 1996. We're proud that you were part of the beginning of the Avallo story.

FAQ pages used to be pretty simple. Answer the questions customers ask most often, save everyone a little time, and make it easier for visitors to find information. They still do all of that. But today, a well-written FAQ section can do much more. FAQs can help your website show up for more specific Google searches, give search engines a better understanding of your business, and provide the kind of clear, question-and-answer content that AI search platforms can use to understand who you are and what you do.
