“Your Head of Marketing is not a Marketing Department, and no matter how hard they try, they cannot become one.”
That line from Bray Brockbank's article below is one of the most accurate descriptions I've read of the challenge faced by many growing companies.
The pattern is familiar. A capable marketer is hired and given a senior title. Then strategy, brand, content, social, the website, analytics, events, and sales enablement pile onto one desk. Production pushes strategy aside, reporting stands in for real measurement, and the person hired to lead spends their time doing the work instead.
That’s where DMMD comes in. Many companies need senior marketing leadership and an entire marketing department, but can't justify or afford building both in-house. So we serve as their contract, full-service marketing department. We work with corporate leadership to set direction, and our team handles all of the work behind the strategy: brand, creative, digital, content and campaigns, and we make sure the work ties back to business goals.
Our clients get:
→ Senior-level strategic thinking without a senior-level salary and benefits package
→ A full creative and production team, ready on day one
→ One partner who owns the result, instead of a handful of vendors who each own a piece
→ Room to scale up or down as the business changes
If your marketing depends on one overloaded person, or on no one at all, let’s talk about how DMMD can support that role.
Dear CEO, Your CMO or Head of Marketing is not a marketing department, and no matter how hard they try, they cannot become one. Yet plenty of companies architect Marketing as if that were possible.
