When you see a girl go silent on social, know something is ABSOLUTELY up. Personally, professionally, baby, everything is going 1000x bts.

This past year has pushed me beyond any limit I ever thought was ever possible.

I’ve worked harder than I ever have.
Rested more than I ever thought I could.
Jumped into situations I NEVER thought I would.
Created more than ever before.
Accepted invitations the old me could never have dreamed.
Spent less time on social media…and poured every moment gained into real life.

Some moments have been downright terrifying on a personal note. And yet, I didn’t doubt myself.

What a feeling, right? To know without anxiety that no matter what, you’ve got your own back.

Heading into this next year, I know without a shadow of a doubt, I’ve got this.

And I hope you know that you do too.

While the volume has been turned down on this corner of the internet for me, know that it’s about to turn up tenfold.

Don’t worry, I’m not gonna blow your speakers…but honestly, I am probably going to blow your mind 🤭

Stick around, gang. We have a A LOT of catching up to do! 😘

When you ARE the vibe, it shows, ya know?

You can’t really fake what’s part of your personality. And that’s why .lilacmoon had a session that WORKED.

Don’t box yourself into a brand that isn’t you. Katie didn’t. Why should you?

She made the choice to embrace every part of what makes her, her. Baddie side. Professional side. Mom side. Serial entrepreneur side. Partner side. Educator side. Human side. Woo woo side. All of them.

We’re multifaceted humans. Complex on so many more levels than what social media scrubs from us. You get to choose to show up as you, or not.

But if you choose to hide behind something that isn’t you…lemme just say this.

It’s one of those things you can see, but you can’t quite put your finger on. It just doesn’t feel right. And as a photographer who works with a lot of service providers who have a job to meet clients irl, it impacts your connections right off the bat.

So instead of choosing to soften the edges on social to not rock the boat, f**k it 🤷‍♀️

Rock the boat. People will know where you stand from first impression on, and then you won’t have any room to fake it, making it a hell of a lot easier to show up as you and do your job, without hiding who you are 💅

Dedicate 20 minutes of your screen time to searching for a local event in your area that sounds fun. It doesn’t strictly need to be for work.

Interested in finding a new hobby with accountability? There’s an art club for that in Milwaukee that hosts twice a month.

Tired of bu****it networking that feels chaotic and leaves you empty and drained?

and I host quarterly girl dinner parties designed to give speed networking the middle finger and focus on quality connections.

Feel like you’re ready to drop the mask and get comfortable with conversation and coworking with peers? hosts events that allow you to work with accountability AND unwind with social events.

Tired of online trainings? and I are hosting a Canva glow up workshop, in person. So the time you so spend on your phone, is much more effective and efficient when it comes to content creation.

Wanna tap into a local community of bookish gal pals and events? and got you covered from s**t to sass and everything in-between.

Ready to tap into your goals without staring at a screen? .realco hosted a vision board workshop last year that sold out immediately. Because girls just wanna make pretty things and dare to dream about the future.

This list could keep going and growing. It’s up to us to simply show up and start 🙌

Everyone says, “never turn on the big light” but what if the big light looks like this? 🤭

Over the three years we’ve lived in our big blue house, this color drenched blue dressing room has become my fav. Somehow, finding pretty light fixtures while thrifting became a favorite hobby of mine. I can’t take any credit for the install (thanks Joe 😘), but finding pieces?

Ooooh now that I can do!

Should we finally do a room reveal of this pretty project? I feel like it’s about time!

Our friends at Lake Five Dentistry have not one but TWO golden girls! Two million aura points and seven of the most talented women in their field?!

Help me pick what photos to bring to a few shows this season, friends!

I usually don’t sell my own personal work, but after a few years of wading through the archives from living in Japan…I think we’re ready to show ‘em off to the world.

Our first stop is happy hours with this Thursday from 3-7pm where we’ll have matted 5x7s, 11x14s, and a curated collection of framed and matted pieces.

While a whole lot of this work is from all over Japan 2019-2022, I had a few requests for some limited edition prints. Like the s**t talking sheep from Stratton 🤭

Life is so weird because wdym if I wouldn’t have photographed weddings and blogged I wouldn’t have nurtured my sweet spot working with small businesses?

I didn’t start out with weddings like a lot of photographers 🤷‍♀️

I started off blogging for a photographing for a media company that was heavily dependent on very specific details for creators.

When I DID make a foray to wedding photography, I found myself loving that same detail oriented nature of storytelling. The big moments, ten toes down, stopped my heart, of course…

But…there’s magic in the unspoken moments too, you know? The ones that aren’t quite as loud but deserve just as much attention.

I loved finding ways to connect those details, big or small, to a whole story. When I started working with small businesses I realized, their details ARE the story to tell.

That’s when I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, this was what I wanted my business to focus on. Today, 80% of my business is dedicated to telling the stories of incredible women blazing their own paths as entrepreneurs.

The tale of the modern woman is ever evolving.

We write our own narratives.

We call the shots.

We tell the tale.

And me? I get to be the one to document those days.

Isn’t it funny to think when we redefine our own story, we find the ones I love to tell the most? It takes some to get here, but damn.

I wouldn’t change a damn thing about the path to get here 💕

Things we are BIG fans of:

This studio space of mine has been working hard, and so have I! The summer and fall are shaped up to be the most booked with brands, babies, and so many incredible women who truly do it all.

Waking up proud each and every day to share space with them, is so profound. 15 years ago when I started, my dream was to serve women in all stages of life and highlight all of their life’s greatest work.

Digging deeper to uncover not only one layer of life, I’ve watched this dream unfold in real time as every woman who steps up, steps into the multitude of roles she holds.

And it’s magic.

She lights up. She stands out. She celebrates. We cheer so hard that it fills the space with so many facets, she sparkles.

That’s the kind of stuff that gets you out of bed in the morning ✨

Raising a glass to all the baddies. Here’s to every version of you that has made you who you are today!

There’s a reason why creating content can make you feel as unhinged as our girl Sally.

If your FYP is littered with ways to beat the algorithm, hi!

So is ours.

And if you’re sick of hearing, “this one trend made me go viral”, hi!

So are we.

We know that those techniques are about as sustainable as a SHEIN top in the spin cycle.

Instead of chasing trends, let’s do something with our hard earned time that’ll make our content last a little longer. Connect a little deeper. Make a lot more sense to our audience.

Once you find out what archetype you are, oooooh, you’re gonna have more momentum and motivation than you ever thought was possible.
