🚡Chair 8 Liftie Spotlight:
From documentary-style artist features to on-set storytelling across industries, Jack has been capturing the heart of our work for over 4 years. Always curious, always creating - and always chasing the perfect shot. We sat down with him to talk about his role, recent projects, and what’s inspiring him lately.
❓In a sentence or two, what does your role look like day to day?
👉As the Multimedia Producer every day can look different, which keeps it interesting! I could be anywhere from filming on farms, in kitchens at restaurants, taking headshots in corporate offices, or just at the office editing.
❓What has been one of the most rewarding projects you’ve worked on at Chair 8, and what made it meaningful to you?
👉A recent project that sticks out are the artist spotlight videos we created for The Weld. It’s a privilege to be able to spend time with artists in their studios and get a closer look at their process. Creating these documentary style pieces was definitely a recent highlight.
❓What’s a skill or aspect of your craft you’ve been most excited to develop while working at Chair 8?
👉I have been most excited to develop my filmmaking abilities. Through constantly creating for clients and spending time on set with other creatives I have been able to learn so much over the last few years!
❓What’s a film/movie you recently watched that you recommend?
👉A few favorites from the past year:
- One Battle After Another
- Weapons
- Friendship
- Marty Supreme
- 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
❓Are there any films, creators, or visual styles that currently inspire you?
👉I have been on a biiiig Paul Thomas Anderson kick recently. After seeing One Battle After Another multiple times in theater I have gone back and revisited some of his older films, a couple of them being Magnolia, and There Will Be Blood. The way PTA paces his films, and how he captures the spirit of all his characters is inspiring.
