Silfies Media Silfies Media exists to serve the Developmental Disabilities industry. What we know is that there are miracles happening in this field every single day.

The world deserves to know about them. And we are here to do just that.

This week I had the opportunity to lead the “Why Am I Still Here?” workshop with the Sandusky County Board of DD — and we wanted to share something special…

Here is what the participants had to say (and this is from a 1pm workshop right after everyone had lunch, so you KNOW it's true):

“We matter more than we will ever know.”
“It’s easy to forget your why sometimes.”
“The work we do daily is impactful — and we need that reminder.”
“My ‘why’ doesn’t have to be a giant, miraculous moment.”
“It rooted me back to my beginning and my why.”
“I realized how important every role is.”
“It helped me rethink my story and reflect.”

There was something powerful about watching people reconnect — not just with their work, but with the reason they chose this field in the first place.

That’s what this is about.

Creating space for people to pause, reflect, and remember why they started, who they impacted, and why it still matters.

Grateful for every person in that room who showed up open, honest, and willing to share.

We’ll keep spreading the “why.”

Had the privilege of spending some time with some incredible self-advocates at Advocacy & Protective Services, Inc. - APSI yesterday! They are an amazing group of people who are truly using their voices to choose what they want for their own lives and to stand up for what is right in this world. Thank you for an awesome day APSI, and for all you are doing to provide real life-change to those you serve.

We’re only four weeks into the year, and we’re already out in the world doing what we love most — shining a light on powerful stories that deserve to be seen.

This year, we’re honored to already be partnering with 32 organizations and counting across the country — celebrating them, helping them grow, amplifying their impact, and telling the real stories behind the work they’re doing in their communities.

Today we’re sharing a behind-the-scenes look from our latest shoot in New Jersey, where we’re helping highlight the incredible services happening across the entire state through the The Arc chapters in New Jersey. What’s happening there is special — real people, real impact, real change.

We’re grateful. We’re energized. And we’re just getting started.

This is what storytelling for good looks like.
This is what building something meaningful feels like.
And 2026 is already shaping up to be something special.

Too often, people with developmental disabilities are seen through the wrong lens—viewed as broken or less than. This video reminds us of a deeper truth: people with developmental disabilities don't need to be "fixed." What they need is to be seen for who they truly are.

When we truly see one another, we realize we’re all fully human. And together, we make the world complete.

Watch, share, and help change the culture around how the world views people with developmental disabilities.

Hiring people with developmental disabilities isn’t charity—it’s good business.

Across industries, employees with disabilities consistently show up with strong work ethic, loyalty, and a unique ability to strengthen team culture. When businesses embrace inclusive hiring, they gain more than just great workers—they build workplaces rooted in purpose and possibility.

Let’s keep opening doors. Because when everyone has a chance to contribute, we all thrive.

We’re proud to share this video we produced for the Huron County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services, highlighting the powerful impact their work has on the lives of people in their community.

This project came to life through our long-standing relationship with the Huron County Board of Developmental Disabilities—proof that collaboration creates deeper stories and stronger communities.

No degree? No problem. That’s the message behind Natasha’s powerful journey—captured in this video we created for our friends at EPIC.

Natasha’s story is proof that purpose, passion, and the right support can open doors to meaningful careers in the developmental disabilities field—even without a college degree.

We’re proud to help EPIC share real stories from real people who are making a difference every day.

We were honored to partner with The Arc of the United States at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. to help amplify powerful stories about why Medicaid matters.

At this national rally, families, advocates, and people with developmental disabilities came together to remind lawmakers that Medicaid is more than a policy—it’s a lifeline. It’s access to care, to independence, to dignity.

We’re proud to help tell these stories. Because behind every sign, every photo, every voice—is a life that deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
