At Embroidery Source Digital we make time and take extra care to extend the already excellent colour output of our Ink Giant, 8 colour printers to the max...

You see most DTF printer manufacturers supply ICC profiles with their printers. They are generally good, but they don't always cover the maximum range of sampled colours.

The truth is that it takes a lot of time to produce an ICC profile. Here's why:

The first two steps are relatively easy but do require some pretty expensive equipment.

- Printing and adjusting ink limits for each colour. This controls how much of each colour is used...
# Too little and colours will not be accurate.
# Too much and ink might pool or bleed on the film losing detail.

- Printing and scanning linearisation charts...
# This is important to achieve smooth, even transitions from light to darker shades within the same colour.

Next comes the major part of creating an ICC profile:
Printing 2,400 different colour patches that have to be scanned using a spectrophotometer. This process is super important because it compares printed colours with what they should be. The software then adjusts the ICC profile to correct any variations that it detected.

We make our own enhanced ICC profile using 2,400 printed colour patches.

This ensures that you get better accuracy for colour matching from physical colour sheets to digital shades displayed in your prints!
