Thousands of cyclists from all over the UK have pedalled across the Scottish Highlands today (Sunday, 10 May) for Cancer Research UK UK Etape Caledonia 2026, the UK’s original closed-road sportive.

Organised by Motiv Sports UK and supported by headline charity Cancer Research UK, the event welcomed over 4,500 cyclists from across the UK.

Cyclists of all abilities set off from Pitlochry at dawn, choosing from 40, 55 and 85-mile routes and riding through Highland Perthshire’s dramatic scenery on fully closed roads.

Falkirk’s four-star visitor attraction, Callendar House, is set to launch two new free exhibitions this Saturday 2 May, ‘Walk in the Park’ by Joy Bain and ‘Iron and Clay’ by Tom Astbury, bringing together contemporary art and rarely seen archive photography that explore Falkirk’s natural beauty and industrial past.

Running until 16 August 2026, the two new exhibitions offer different but complementary perspectives, with ‘Walk in the Park’ exploring the beauty of Callendar Park, while ‘Iron and Clay’ focuses on the legacy of industries that have shaped Falkirk.

Scottish businesses have helped to create nearly 30 jobs by simply choosing where they spend their IT support budgets, as Inverness based provider WePurpose Technology announces its 2026 Supporter Award winners while also unveiling its new branding.

The award-winning Inverness-based IT services provider, founded in 2016, was previously known as The Apprentice Store. WePurpose Technology has set its sights on expansion of their remotely delivered IT services across the UK and internationally, which will continue to fund its charity work, that is to create employment and training opportunities.
