California Dreaming of a Resilient Future 🍇💡 4 days, 13 communicators, 14 winery visits, 100+ wines and a whole lot of resilience!

FirstPour were honoured to be part of the California Wines 2026 Resilient Future Media Tour.

Across four days and four different winegrowing regions, we were introduced to climate-smart and regenerative organic farming, sustainability at scale, AI-powered robotics, and next-generation winemaking.

Our job? To bring it all to life on film.

How did we do?

Can wine save the world? 🌍🍷

Probably not! But here are some of the clever ways our clients are cultivating a more sustainable future for our planet, one vine at a time…

🐎 Ysios Winery – Horses cultivate their Rioja Alavesa vineyards instead of tractors, sheep graze between the rows and selected cover crops build healthier soils.

🍷 Faustino Wine – An icon of Spanish wine certified by the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection, with a new green tourism complex that’s entirely solar-powered.

🌿 Exton Park Vineyard – Beehives are kept on the estate to encourage biodiversity and support pollination of the vibrant wildflowers that grow between the vine rows.

🏆 The California Wine Institute – With over 90% of its wine produced in certified sustainable wineries, the Golden State is setting the pace for a greener future.

🐑 Silverhand Estate – From grazing livestock for w**d control to protecting wildlife habitats and crafting wines without animal-derived products, every choice reflects their commitment to work in harmony with nature.

🌞 Vinhos do Alentejo – Alentejo represents just 0.3% of the world’s vineyard area, yet it stands as a global benchmark in sustainable wine production, with WASP's 700 members and 29 certified producers setting the standard.

Today we raise a glass to Natalie Britz for achieving Pass with Merit in her WSET Level 3! 🥂

The theory exam required months of dedicated study alongside her work as Content Manager at FirstPour, “so earning a Merit feels especially rewarding,” she shared.

“The tasting exam was the most challenging, but it’s been amazing to see how my palate has developed as a result. Overall, it was an incredible experience and I’m excited to keep learning and tasting new wines!”

FirstPour is proud to support our team in their wine studies. We believe that deeper wine knowledge is crucial for understanding our clients and their content needs.

Please join us in toasting Natalie on achieving her WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 3! 🍷

Santé to a record-smashing year at Wine Paris 2026! 🍷💥 With visitors up over 20% – and over half of them international guests from 169 countries – Vinexposium is leading the way as the world’s no.1 wine and spirits show.

We’re proud to say that part of this success was down to our talented Wine Paris Ambassadors, who’ve been busy sharing what made this edition unmissable, including its two new standalone events (Be No and Be Spirits).

Our team was busy, too! We had over 100 meetings in just three days, tasting more than 300 wines and clocking a combined 80,000 steps – yes, we counted…

Here are our top 7 highlights from the show:

1) Celebrating with the awesome team and our 2026 Ambassadors
2) Meeting the dynamic and welcoming producers from Vinhos do Alentejo
3) Going behind the scenes at the California Wines Judgment of Paris tasting with Elaine Chukan Brown
4) Catching up with Catawiki for those obligatory pre-fair coffees
5) Playing wine poker at the Wines of Hungary event

Did ewe know Alentejo is a global leader in sustainability? 🐑🍇 Although it covers just 0.3% of the world’s total vineyard area, this historic Portuguese region is leading the way when it comes to sustainable wine production.

That’s why our co-founder Richard Morley set out to capture Alentejo’s pioneering sustainable practices on film, interviewing innovative wine producers such as Fitapreta Vinhos with their flock of 70 Merino sheep! 💡 Just one of the clever ways they regenerate their dry-farmed vineyards.

🎥 Follow the ‘Sustainable by Nature’ series as it unfolds on the Vinhos do Alentejo.
