Tomorrow marks 44 years since the kidnapping of Johnny Gosch.

On September 5, 1982, the 12-year-old left his West Des Moines home to deliver the Des Moines Register. He never returned.

It's a story that shook our area, shattering the sense of safety. This week, WHO Radio News Director Sarah Walters had the opportunity to interview his mother, Noreen Gosch, ahead of the anniversary. She says she has always believed Johnny is alive.

The judge said he intends to declare a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder case in Massachusetts, but has given the defense one hour to make an emergency appeal for a stay. The jury told the judge once again today they are deadlocked, leading the judge to announce the mistrial. Clancy admitted to killing her three children in 2023 but pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. She claimed she suffered from postpartum psychosis, but prosecutors argued the killings were premeditated.
