Wow, what a great workshop and discussion this afternoon!

I had the opportunity to present How to Build a Consistent Brand to a room full of small business owners and nonprofits looking to strengthen their brands.

We discussed practical, actionable strategies that attendees can start implementing right away, and the conversation was fantastic.

Today’s Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast was hosted by Michigan Horse Driving School right here in Saranac!

You can hear how passionate Bob and Jennifer are about their mission the moment they begin speaking. It was inspiring to learn how they use miniature horses to help local youth build confidence, leadership skills, and personal growth.

And as an added bonus, I was lucky enough to win one of the grand prizes! 🐴

Networking is so important to me because it’s about so much more than showing up to an event and trying to meet as many people as possible.

It’s about showing up with intention, introducing yourself, listening, and remembering the things people share with you. Some people you meet and instantly click with and that’s exactly what happened with Whitney.

The first time we met, she congratulated me on MiPitch competition presentation. We didn’t get a chance to talk much that night, but a couple of weeks later we ran into each other at another event and really got to chat. Before long, we were attending networking events together, and it was always nice knowing I’d see a familiar face in the room.

What started as a connection through business networking turned into a real friendship. This past weekend, I got to celebrate her at her bachelorette party, and later this summer, I’ll be celebrating with her again at her wedding.

So consider this your sign to put yourself out there. Go introduce yourself. Start the conversation. There’s a whole world of people out there who are strangers today, but they might end up becoming some of your friends tomorrow.

Tonight’s Chamber After Hours at M1063 WGLM and Green Medicine Shop was easily in my top 3 Chamber after hours events ever… and that’s saying a lot because I’ve been to a lot of them!

Great BBQ, drinks from Flat River Brewing, a live band, prizes, spray painting, and even a chance to record a few radio ads. A beautiful night spent with good friends and an awesome local business community.

As a go-go-go person who is always networking and building my business, this summer I’ve decided to slow down a bit and really enjoy summer. To start, yesterday I took the day off to go to the beach.

This post is a great reminder from one of my clients.

Summer often encourages us to be busy.

More plans.
More commitments.
More movement.

But what if this season also became an invitation to be present?

To savor.
To notice.
To simply be.

Healing can happen there, too.
