The best brands aren't built for the moment. They're built for the future. If you're considering a new name or product, a few questions can guide you.

1. Does our current name and brand reflect who we are today and where we want to go tomorrow?
2. Will our new name or brand help the right customers understand, remember, and choose us?

Here's an example of how that worked for one company. This is a five-plus-year look back at the changes they made to move confidently toward the future, and how they feel about that decision now.

Nearly 8 years ago, we began the process of investing in bringing video production in-house. Today, we have a number of cameras, lights, backdrops, and, most importantly, talent that helps bring our clients' videos to life when they need them. At the end of last week, our head of that department sent another list of equipment needs. This is part of what keeps this area growing: the continual investment in new equipment.

I approved a special light that allows us to go into smaller spaces and film, new mics to help us capture and monitor dialogue, and supports to help the crew move quickly while keeping our cameras secure. Editing has also advanced with the new investment in more powerful systems and tools we couldn't have imagined when we first began bringing stories to life this way. For our clients, that means greater flexibility, fewer interruptions and retakes, stronger picture and sound, and a smoother experience from setup through final delivery. We're currently producing a documentary. We just finished two training videos for a national client. We make reels and TV commercials here every day. It's exciting and impactful.

While we're not in the project business, with 80% of our clients working with us all year long, this has most definitely added to their experience with us. Video isn't another partner anyone needs to bring up to speed. It's in-house, known, and ready for action.

It took us a while to build this department to this point, but now that we're here, it's exciting to watch it take flight and see the years of hard work pay off.

Clients come to us when they are growing, building, or changing and need a marketing firm that can help them achieve their goals. Happy to see Centro Dane County's Norma Gallegos Valles as the Professional of the Month in In Business Madison! 🌟

Norma is an excellent and . She attributes the future Tech Hub, which earned a $3M grant in the spring from Ascendium Education Group, as one of the high points of her career so far. Help us welcome Savanna Tomei-Olson to The Creative Company! As PR & Multimedia Specialist, she will provide strategic public relations and media counsel to clients.

Tomei-Olson brings extensive experience helping audiences understand complex issues through clear, compelling storytelling across print, radio, and television. Many in Wisconsin will recognize her from her work on the anchor desk and as an investigative journalist at WKOW in Madison, Spectrum News, WQOW in Eau Claire, and most recently Civic Media, where she served as Assistant News Director for the statewide radio news team.
“Savanna’s deep connections in Wisconsin and the Madison community have already had a positive impact on our work,” said Laura Gallagher, president of The Creative Company. “We actually met in 2015 when she was at the anchor desk in Madison and worked together on a few stories then. She bolsters our existing PR and crisis communication services with her decade-plus of experience in the news industry. She’ll counsel clients on how to shape conversations, earn trust, and strengthen their reputations. It’s my pleasure to welcome her to the team and to a new career with The Creative Company.”
Having covered education, government, healthcare, and business across Wisconsin, Tomei-Olson brings strong media relationships, sharp news judgment, and a journalist’s perspective to client work. She will support accounts through public relations, media relations, and multimedia campaigns.
In May, Tomei-Olson won First Place at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association 2025 Awards for her audio storytelling and editing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University. Welcome Savanna!
