Kiva Fully Funded

I have been brought to tears of joy during each step of this journey! In the beginning, REDC NH offered the most helpful in-person informational session, which I highly recommend to future Kiva applicants! REDC staff was a continued source of support during the application process, answering calls and emails related to my questions.

After the loan approval process, I shared the loan with my personal network AND before I knew it, my loan was in the public fundraising phase, available on Kiva’s global platform.

Thank you to the global community of changemakers!! 172 supporters contributed to my loan. My time with Kiva has just begun, so this is not farewell. The engagement through the Kiva teams, businessowners, corporations and individuals has been truly inspiring!

There is only 9 days left for my loan to be fully funded on Kiva. My loan has been 55% funded, but I need all of you to get me over the finish line.

With only $3,120 left to fundraise, now’s the time for a final push. I can see myself being successful with this loan, we're so close!

The outpouring of support helped me get through a challenging day. Today, is my mother's birthday. Sadly, she passed away last year. So thank you for your warmth, generosity and for believing in my vision. Please continue to share with your networks, there are only 2 weeks remaining.

Good Afternoon All,

Please give me grace for my delayed update. For the folks who know my company, you know we strive to provide quality community-based events, this past weekend is a shining example of that commitment. We took part in various events celebrating Juneteenth across Northeast region of the United States. Having travelled over 220 miles in 1 day, I needed to replenish & rejuvenate. Hence, the delay.

Juneteenth is an African American celebration commemorating the day remaining enslaved Blacks in America were informed of their freedom on June 19th 1865 in Galveston, Texas. Recognized as a federal US holiday in 2021. I can trace my direct lineage to Galveston, TX. My great-grandfather was born there.

Onto the long awaited update, my next goal is to be 50% by 6/30/2026. Yes, this an ambitious goal, however we are currently at 28%. Thanks to our incredible lenders from IT Cosmetics! Not only have you extended us funds, you are graciously offering a 4X match loan right now.

You have all inspired me to reach even greater heights with my business. Please continue to share the word.

Juneteenth 2026

Kittery Maine to Keene New Hampshire JohnLu brought the vibe!!

JohnLu performed for a large crowd which gathered prior to the Freedom Walk hosted by Seacoast African American Cultural Center at John Paul Jones Memorial Park in Kittery Maine. The performance motivated the folks prior to their journey across the Memorial Bridge into Portsmouth NH.

JohnLu later entertained the neighborhood at the Keene Juneteenth celebration at Fuller Park! This community led event was hosted by the Juneteenth Celebration committee, derived from several local organizations.
