In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and keeping with Seacoast African American Cultural Center (SAACC) tradition, we invite you to join us for the 5th Annual Freedom Walk.
We are grateful to collaborate with SAACC, Black Heritage Trail of NH, Green Acre Bahai', Seacoast NAACP, BLM of NH, North Star American Zion Church and Jukwaa Mazoa Productions to bring to life what is set to be a powerful day of reflection, unity, remembrance, and hope.
The Freedom Walk is more than a community event — it is a living tribute to the generations who fought for liberty, justice, dignity, and the promise of freedom for all. As we gather together, we honor the stories, resilience, and contributions of African Americans whose voices and sacrifices helped shape our nation and continue to inspire change today.
This year’s walk invites community members of all ages and backgrounds to come together in the spirit of solidarity and shared purpose. Through music, fellowship, and collective movement, we will celebrate our history while recommitting ourselves to building a more just and inclusive future.
Whether you are joining for the first time or continuing this tradition with us, your presence matters. Bring your family, friends, neighbors, and walking shoes as we walk together in remembrance, celebration, and community.
Let us move forward together — honoring the past, uplifting the present, and inspiring the future.
**Parking will be available in Portsmouth NH, please see the map in comments for parking recommendations. You will need to crossover the John Paul Jones Memorial Bridge on foot to participate in the walk**
