dash We are dash: a motion design studio built around making incredible stuff. We are DASH: a motion design studio built around making incredible stuff.

Two best friends (Cory Livengood & Mack Garrison) on a mission to connect Raleigh, NC and the world with animation, motion graphics and film. DASH is a creative studio that loves a good challenge. We design high-level videos and animation with influence and purpose. Our team of writers, designers & freelancers create thought provoking animation designed to drive action & push boundaries. Have a crazy idea? Great, we’re all ears! Don’t know what you’re doing when it comes to video? Perfect, we do. This is our passion, we love what we do! Give us a shout, we'll show you what we're all about.

We made over 40+ cutdowns for our friends at Civic Credit Union for their latest "How-To" campaign and here's the 4K secret: build a massive 1x1 square that can be templatized to make alllll the cutdowns in different sizes you need! This trick saved us so much time.

Last year we teamed up with our agency friends, Seez Today to build this series of how-to animations for Civic Credit Union. Here's a super cut of all the videos, but make sure to check out the full case study up on our site!

No need to bug out about any deadlines when you've got dash on board! Cheesy? Yes. Accurate? Also yes.

How do we feel about celebrating 11 years in the animation industry? We're floating in the clouds ;)

It's all about empowering teams - whether it's our team or yours. Simplifying complexity and reducing project files to easily adjustable "essential graphics" panels allowed us to scale content quickly and efficiently.

How do you build content that scales without losing fidelity? How about video that can be translated across verticals? Using a bespoke, templatized approach, dash was able to help ShareFile create modularity through containers that allowed us to change-out imagery and copy so one video could become six!

Bianca Guimaraes is the Founding Partner & Executive Creative Director at Mischief @ No Fixed Address who is widely known for being one of the most creative companies in the world, and one of the reasons she believes they’ve maintained that title as they’ve grown is because of their clearly defined principles

“Process doesn’t tell you how to behave when things get uncomfortable but principles do.” The benefits of having such a strong belief system is that they anchor you in the ambiguity and they allow your entire team to feel empowered to steer the company in the right direction.

“If your team cannot articulate what your agency believes in they will default to what’s safe.”

Here's a quick playback-recording from the game so you can get a vibe of the characters and environment in action. It's really fun to play, but be ye forewarned... it's tough! Link to the game is on the project page if you'd like to play.

Animation is a time consuming process. Not only do you have to design the graphics, but you then have to put it in motion. To eliminate any ambiguity of creative intentions, we went through the entire list of assets for the game and began sketching and rendering frames for approval. There were a lot of static assets that only required some simple sketches, while others needed to show a little more complexity through storyboards.
