What an achievement by the team at Woodville Pre-School.

The Storal setting has been rated "exceptional" by Ofsted in three areas: behaviour, attitudes and establishing routines, children's welfare and wellbeing, and inclusion. It was judged "strong" in everything else.

"Exceptional" is the highest grade on the five-point scale Ofsted introduced last November, reserved for the very best practice nationally. Analysis by the NDNA found just one private, voluntary or independent nursery in England achieved a single "exceptional" grade in the framework's first months. Woodville has three.

Inspectors highlighted the team's "transformational impact" on children with SEND, and the way staff wrap support around whole families, from visits by health professionals to food bank access.

Lovely to see Derbyshire Live tell the story, along with a range of other publications. It was also on the front page of the Burton Mail! After 13 years working in early years PR, I still get a buzz from telling a nursery manager they are in their local paper!

Huge congratulations to Amanda Gadsby and her team at Woodville, and to Sarah Mackenzie and the team at Storal.

Ofsted rated it as 'exceptional' in three out of six areas inspected and 'strong' in the others

Considering improving your home office set up? It might add more value to your home than you think.

Good to work with Bryn Nettle at STRETTONS on this piece in The Independent discussing how the right type of home office can add thousands to the value of a property.

Research referenced in the article suggests a well-designed home office could add more than £40,000 to the value of a property.

As Bryn highlights, it’s not just about squeezing a desk into a spare corner. Buyers are increasingly drawn to purpose-built office space, whether that’s a properly designed room inside the home or a garden studio that provides genuine separation between work and home life.

Working from home remains a hot topic - and a divisive one - but it can really boost some properties’ value

Good to be with my client today to welcome MP for Bolsover to Storal's Children 1st @ Clowne Nursery School.

It was a great opportunity for Shanti Flynn Quality & Education Director, Regional Manager Rachel Kitts and Deputy Nursery Manager Emily Christopher to showcase the nursery and highlight the important work their team does in providing quality early years education and supporting children and families in the local community.

The visit, organised by the National Partnership in Early Learning and Childcare, also created a valuable opportunity to discuss some of the challenges currently facing the early years sector and the role policymakers and providers can play in continuing to strengthen provision across the UK.

Thanks to Natalie for taking the time to visit us.

We are up and running for 2026 with £11.7 million raised at Strettons’ February property auction.

Ahead of the sale, I worked with the Strettons team to generate media interest in the catalogue, securing coverage across leading property trade titles as well as regional and national media.

One story in particular really caught attention: a pair of iconic red telephone boxes in Canterbury heading under the hammer.

The story ran on the BBC website, Estates Gazette, Property Week and Surrey Live, alongside widespread coverage across Kent.

Strettons’ Associate Director of Auctions, Robert Woolfe, was also interviewed on BBC Radio Kent’s breakfast show.

The result? The phone boxes sold for £17,000 – £3,000 above their guide price. Similar phone boxes in Guildford sold for £8,000.

A great example of how the right story can help build interest and momentum ahead of an auction.

Another strong result for Andrew Brown and the Strettons team. Looking forward to the April sale!

Good to be clocking up the miles this week, catching up with clients in London, Leicester and, of course, sunny Nottingham.

Always good to spend time face to face and properly get into the detail on upcoming work.

Birmingham and Manchester up next week!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
