Good to be with my client today to welcome MP for Bolsover to Storal's Children 1st @ Clowne Nursery School.

It was a great opportunity for Shanti Flynn Quality & Education Director, Regional Manager Rachel Kitts and Deputy Nursery Manager Emily Christopher to showcase the nursery and highlight the important work their team does in providing quality early years education and supporting children and families in the local community.

The visit, organised by the National Partnership in Early Learning and Childcare, also created a valuable opportunity to discuss some of the challenges currently facing the early years sector and the role policymakers and providers can play in continuing to strengthen provision across the UK.

We are up and running for 2026 with £11.7 million raised at Strettons’ February property auction.

Ahead of the sale, I worked with the Strettons team to generate media interest in the catalogue, securing coverage across leading property trade titles as well as regional and national media.

One story in particular really caught attention: a pair of iconic red telephone boxes in Canterbury heading under the hammer.

The story ran on the BBC website, Estates Gazette, Property Week and Surrey Live, alongside widespread coverage across Kent.

Strettons’ Associate Director of Auctions, Robert Woolfe, was also interviewed on BBC Radio Kent’s breakfast show.

The result? The phone boxes sold for £17,000 – £3,000 above their guide price. Similar phone boxes in Guildford sold for £8,000.

A great example of how the right story can help build interest and momentum ahead of an auction.

Another strong result for Andrew Brown and the Strettons team. Looking forward to the April sale!

Strettons closed its 2025 auction calendar on a strong note, raising £15.5m at its December sale, and £94.2 million for the year.

The standout result was Abery Street Car Park, Plumstead, a vacant freehold site with development potential, which sold for more than £1m above guide.

Great to visit Storal's Cherry Tree Nursery School in Warrington where apprentice Jon-Paul and nursery manager Gemma Mason were interviewed by Granada TV for this evening’s news.

The filming was part of the Department for Education’s ‘Do Something Big’ campaign, driven by Neil Johnson, which aims to encourage more men to consider a career in early years education, something that will positively impact the sector. It is an important conversation as in the North West, 97% of parents say there should be more men working in early years, yet just 3% of the workforce is male.

Jon-Paul, who is close to completing his apprenticeship, spoke about what he enjoys most about working in early years and why he believes more men should enter the profession. Gemma also shared how much of a positive difference Jon-Paul has made to the nursery and the children he works with.

Good to work with Neil and The Cherry Tree team to deliver an important and positive message. Hopefully, it will encourage more men to see early years as the rewarding and impactful career that it truly is.

Today is the day for RedTree client STRETTONS. The company has moved into its new offices at Telephone House in Shoreditch. The move brings together all Strettons' 120 staff in one location and gives the company room for further growth.

Great to work with Strettons marketing department to secure news coverage of the move in the property media with Estates Gazette, CoStar, Property Week and BeNews running the story.

Fantastic evening last night at ’ .notts Restaurant at The Orchard Hotel. The food, setting, service and company was exceptional.

The Nottingham Venues team organised an exclusive event for food and restaurant content creators so they could experience the newly transformed Bramley’s and Orchard Hotel. We were treated to a 6 course tasting menu and wine flight created by former World Service Head Chef David Cartwright. I think everyone was impressed!

Brilliant to meet everyone in person and to catch up with .

The Nottingham Venues team have created a special destination, one that I hope becomes a go to destination in Nottingham.
