Here is a gap that costs contracts after they are won.

The businesses we scored market better than they lead. They score higher on positioning than on executive leadership. In plain terms, they can win the deal faster than they can run it.

That is the quiet failure mode. The pitch lands, the contract comes in, and then delivery strains to meet the standard the room was promised. Buyers remember that, and it is the difference between a one-time award and a renewing relationship.

The fix is coachable, but only once you can see the gap between how a business sells and how it operates.

Which side is your business, or your pipeline, actually strong on? ndemandconsulting.com/contact

Picture 100 businesses. Only 10 come through with no critical red flags.

That is the readiness gap in a single image. Nine out of ten carry a gap that is real, specific, and fixable.

For the program leaders at universities, chambers, and supplier organizations reading this, that is not bad news. That gap is the entire reason your programs exist, and this data tells you exactly where to point them. Stop spreading effort evenly across everyone. Aim it at the gaps that move a business from stuck to awarded.

Measure first. Then develop. In that order.

Let's put your programming where the data says it counts: ndemandconsulting.com/contact

58 percent of the businesses we scored have no code of ethics.

It sounds like a formality until you learn that it is one of the few documents enterprise and government buyers treat as non-negotiable. No code of ethics, no award, on many pursuits.

And most businesses have simply never written one. It is a one-page fix that quietly gates real contracts, and almost nobody knows it is the thing standing between them and the next level.

These are the invisible gaps. Not talent, not effort, just missing pieces no one flagged. How many of them are costing you, or the businesses you support, a contract right now?

Let's find the ones that matter: ndemandconsulting.com/contact

If you run a chamber, a university extension program, a procurement department, or a business development center, you already have the audience. What you usually do not have is the curriculum.

We built two twelve week instructor led programs. GovCon covers federal market entry, capability development, capture strategy, proposal management, and contract performance. CorpCon covers private sector procurement, enterprise supplier qualification, corporate buyer relationships, and scaled delivery.

Either one can run under your own brand. We provide the curriculum, the platform, the trainers, and the certification track. You provide the audience and the brand.

Institutional cohort, up to 25 participants: connect for pricing. Cohort plus a branded readiness assessment for your full population: customized plans available. Pricing valid through December 31, 2026.

Part 2, for chambers and associations.

Renewals measure loyalty. They do not measure advancement. Here is the data on why your most ambitious members stall, and what to do about it.

We scored 146 businesses. 62 percent are chasing government and corporate work at the same time, with the infrastructure for neither, and they score lowest of all. Across the board, members embraced AI roughly twice as readily as the governance to control it, which is where both advancement and risk live.

Swipe through, then give your members a scored starting point with the Member Advancement Readiness Pulse. It turns your programming from networking into measurable movement.

I read a Harvard Business Review piece this morning over coffee, and it reframed something I have been building toward for the September 19 TEDx stage.

Researchers from Harvard, Wharton, Northwestern, and Columbia (De Freitas, Israeli, Nave, Timoshenko, and Toubia) make a deceptively simple argument. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, yet results are wildly uneven. Their explanation is that the real bottlenecks in innovation were never technological. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻. And AI, used without deliberate redesign, deepens those bottlenecks while looking like it is helping.

Three findings grabbed my attention and modified my upcoming TEDx Talk outline. Screening panels do not get less biased when you add AI, they start rewarding polish, because fluency gets mistaken for quality. Simulated customers behave far more rationally than real ones, so they underestimate the exact frictions that kill new products. And when evaluators were handed an AI recommendation with a written rationale, they rubber stamped it more often without getting any better at catching when the AI was wrong. The rationale replaced their judgment instead of supporting it.

𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜.

My talk opens in a federal procurement office, where I watched a fully qualified business get filtered out. Not because they could not do the work. Because the form had no field for the conversation we had just had. Later I walk through a modernization rollout where the dashboards got better and the trust got worse.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽. Every tool tests fine on its own, but junior people stop getting the reps that build instinct, and the whole loop drifts away from real customers because every stage is now mediated by models trained on each other's output. Everything gets faster. Nothing stays grounded.

Their prescription is the one I am taking to that stage. Be deliberate about which parts of your process still require unmediated contact with reality. Fieldwork. Direct customer contact. A human who owns the consequential call and has to stand behind it. That is not nostalgia. It is load bearing.

𝙎𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙖𝙨𝙠. If you are building anything with AI in the loop, whether that is a procurement pipeline, a product roadmap, or a hiring process, let's grab a coffee and talk about which of your bottlenecks AI is solving and which ones it is quietly making worse. If you have walked the journey and something lined up, the next step is short.

Fifteen minutes. That is the whole meeting.

It is short because the assessment already did the discovery. We are not spending your time on background, we are scoping what a first group would look like, how many seats, and when it starts.

Colleges and universities. Corporations and primes. Chambers and membership organizations. Individual businesses.

Every organization I walk into has a shadow system. A spreadsheet, a group text, a workaround somebody built because the official tool was unusable.

That is not a training problem. That is a design problem.

Humanizing Technology is for CIOs, CTOs, and the teams running modernization. We look at ITSM, AI adoption, automation, and workflow design through the lens of user experience, change management, and trust. The result is smarter implementations, higher adoption, and fewer shadow systems.

For chamber and association leaders, a question worth sitting with.

Are your members advancing, or just renewing? We scored 146 businesses. The average readiness score was 47 out of 100, and the members chasing two markets at once, government and corporate, scored lowest of all: 43 versus 55 for the focused ones.

That is a story you can do something about. A membership that can hand each business a scored starting point and a clear path forward is a membership worth keeping, and worth talking about.

Renewals measure loyalty. This measures advancement, which is what your members actually joined for.
