Some industries are already years into AI search. Others have barely started.

While some industries have been optimizing for AI search for years, others are just waking up to it.

If you’re in manufacturing, the trades, or professional services, chances are you’re still catching up and Webflow’s research points the same way: tech-forward sectors show up in AI answers far more often than industrial and service ones do.

It’s easy to read that as bad news. I’d read it differently.

When a whole category is behind, the first company to take AI visibility seriously doesn’t just catch up, it becomes the one the answers point to. Being early in a slow-moving sector is a real advantage, not a consolation prize.

That doesn’t happen by accident, and it won’t happen overnight. But the opening is there right now, while most of your competitors still treat this as a next-year problem.

So where does your industry sit; ahead, or wide open?

While some industries have been optimizing for AI search for years, others are just waking up to it.

The last full week is done. The walking is not.

Four days left, and Matt Lint should not be getting comfortable. He leads with 483,840, but Dan O is only 25,751 back, less than Dan’s best day this month. Matt’s whole lead could disappear before lunch. Jesse Rathner is third at 410,461 and still climbing.

The walking pads have started smoking after eight-hour days under desks. Four weeks of meetings and they never went anywhere, which puts them right on par with most meetings.

The client board is humbling. Van Aken District is averaging 8,674 steps a day per person to our 8,371. We built this thing and we’re losing it on our own turf. And Rex at A.L.L. Laundry Service is a one-man team averaging 10,255, beating every company on the board by himself.

Dan spent the month sending selfies and this week sent one of a payphone he found, standing next to it like he’d unearthed a dinosaur. Not that he could have called anyone about it.

7,683,819 steps. Four days to go. Winners next week, so keep those feet moving.

Dan is always top three on the walking challenge board. Sometimes first.

We joke that the Ring cameras catch him after dark. So we asked for photos from a normal day.

Drive-thrus. Orange barrels. Unbothered animals. More drive-thrus. Zero scenery.

Then the timestamps kept going past sunset.

Dan, nobody is asking you to stop. We would just like to know when you sleep. 🐾

Three weeks into the step challenge and this has turned into an amateur nature survey.

The wildlife reports have been unexpectedly strong. A lot of deer. One southern lapwing, which nobody has topped and nobody is likely to.

Family walks have become a thing, with small children marched around neighborhoods after dinner having agreed to none of it.

Kelsey put up 29,188 steps in a single day and stopped 812 short of 30,000, a number she will be thinking about for the rest of her life.

Up top, Matt Lint is still holding the lead with Dan right behind him, and Jesse from Van Aken has walked his way onto the podium.

One week left. It’s a fight to the finish. Or a walk. Whatever this is.

The rest of the pack has entered the chat.

You’ve seen what happens when we’re in Work Mode. Now, we’re back with more of the team and what they’re up to when Pack Mode takes over.

Different roles. Different interests. Same team behind BrandDog.

“I thought the entire team was very easy to work with.”

That’s from Dr. Pooja Patel, Founder of Core Life Chiropractic, sharing her experience working with BrandDog.

She shared what stood out to her:

“Dedication to the client is phenomenal. In a world where most businesses make you feel like you are just another number, that is not how Brand Dog operates.”

She also highlighted the attention to detail and professionalism in every meeting and interaction.

“I would recommend the team to anyone and only have great things to say. Thank you Brand Dog!”

Two weeks in and the step challenge has stopped being casual.

Walking pads have quietly shown up under desks, and meetings now happen at a steady 2.5 mph.

We have all fully adapted to working and pacing at the same time, which is either impressive or concerning depending on who you ask.

Someone’s dog even gets three walks a day whether that dog wants them or not.

Meanwhile the leaderboard gets even more competitive.

Matt Lint took the top spot this week, with Dan and Jake close enough behind that nobody is comfortable.

Zack set a new single-day record at 26,403 steps, which we assume involved a decision he made early in the morning and regretted by 2pm.

37 of us. 3,975,928 steps. Two weeks in.

Halfway there. Still walking. 🐾

Normally we prank Matt……or other Matt. Both of them have taken more than their share.

This time we came for the whole design team.

Three carousel covers, a Loving Web Partners series, merch nobody asked for, and Anne straight faced through every second. 🐾

Happy Father’s Day to our very own Fer.

Designer. Strategist. Teammate. Dad.

And, as we’ve learned, a very committed Pack Mode adventurer.
