16 years ago, we brought a myth to life. ✨

As of this September, we are officially celebrating 16 amazing years in business!

To mark this huge milestone, we are throwing it back to the very first commercial we ever shot, freshly recut for today.

This video is our cinematic retelling of the Greek myth of Persephone. It begins with the fateful taste of the forbidden pomegranate, a choice that binds her to the Underworld.

After a desperate chase through the forest by Hades, she takes her rightful place as Queen of the Night under a glowing full moon. 🌙🖤

It is so incredible to look back at where our journey began. Thank you for being part of our story for the last 16 years!

Many of us are guilty of this:

social videos framed wrong before editing even starts.

This Fusion Projects video was originally shot by our team in 2012, long before vertical video became the standard for social media.

To be fair, adapting wide footage does have its perks. It lets you breathe new life into older content and stretch your shoot budget across multiple platforms.

But we’re using it now to show exactly what happens when you take a widescreen 16:9 video and force it into a 4:5 social format using pan and scan.
Watch the comparison closely.

The widescreen version has room to breathe. The 4:5 conversion has to constantly crop, reframe and choose what stays in the shot.

That’s why we shoot social content natively for the platform whenever possible.

If you know a video is going to live in 9:16 or 4:5, compose it that way from the beginning.

Better framing. Better use of the screen. Better video.
