Happy Earth Day! ๐ŸŒŽ

This Earth Day, we're reminded that the health of our planet is inseparable from the health of our communities.

Environmental factors โ€” from air and water quality to exposure to toxic pollutants โ€” play a defining role in public health outcomes around the world. Protecting our environment isn't just about sustainability efforts; it's a critical investment in long-term human health and equity.

That's why we're proud to partner with Pure Earth, where our CEO serves on the board. Through our ongoing pro bono work, we've supported initiatives focused on reducing toxic pollution and protecting some of the world's most vulnerable populations.

This partnership reflects our broader commitment to using our expertise to advance solutions that improve both environmental and human health. Because real impact happens when we recognize that these challenges, and their solutions, are deeply interconnected.

Every step forward matters. ๐ŸŒณ What actions will you take to help the Earth today? โฌ‡๏ธ

Something is wrong and we need to talk about it.

Younger and younger people are being diagnosed with cancer โ€” and the numbers are alarming.

Per the American Cancer Societyโ€ฆ
- 12% of cancer diagnoses in 2026 will be in people younger than 50.
- Colorectal cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in people under 50, with rates increasing by 2.9% each year from 2013 to 2022.
- Every year in the U.S., about 80,000 young adults aged 20-39 are diagnosed with cancer.

The numbers are projected to get worse โ€” BMJ Oncology cites early-onset cases to rise by another 30% globally by 2030, and that as of 2019, cancer rates in people aged 18-49 were nearly 80% higher than they were in 1990. This is not a blip. This is a crisis.

That's why, as we mark both Cancer Prevention & Early Detection Month and AYA (Adolescent and Young Adult) Cancer Awareness Week, the urgency has never been greater. Proactive screenings, education, and access to care can make a meaningful difference in outcomes. Adopting a healthy diet, staying physically active, and avoiding to***co and alcohol are vital steps to take today to significantly lower one's long-term risk.

Any action, but especially early action, saves lives. To learn more, check out https://www.mskcc.org/news/why-is-cancer-rising-among-young-adults and watch their powerful series, GEN:C (Generation Cancer), a Memorial Sloan Kettering program dedicated to supporting young adults navigating a cancer diagnosis through timely research and care options.

And be on the lookout for a new educational series from the National Association for Proton Therapy launching in May called โ€œLetโ€™s Talk Protons,โ€ which provides information on how precise proton therapy protects vital and developing organs, making it an important treatment consideration for younger cancer patients.

Today, on , we're reminded that health is foundational to every community across the world.

78 years ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) was founded following the post-WWII world health crisis and a need for a global health governing body. Their goal? To emphasize both that international health collaboration is vital for peace and that health is unequivocally a human right.

The organization has come a long way in the decades since. From eradicating smallpox and nearly eliminating polio, to coordinating global responses to HIV/AIDS, Ebola, and COVID-19, to expanding vaccine access to billions through COVAX โ€” the progress made through international scientific cooperation is undeniable. But the fight is still ongoing, and threats like the erosion of public trust in scientific institutions, the spread of health misinformation, and the rollback of funding and international cooperation loom large.

That's why this year's theme, "Together for Health: Stand with Science," is so timely. It underscores the importance of evidence-based decision-making, trusted information, and collaboration across the global health ecosystem. From research and innovation to public health policy and patient care, science plays a critical role in shaping better outcomes.

At TogoRun, we believe that advancing health means more than raising awareness โ€” it means staying committed to the evidence, amplifying voices driving change, and supporting the partners working on the front lines of global health every day. Today and every day, we stand with science.

This , we're reminded of a simple but powerful truth: good health doesn't just happen. It is built by communities, advocates, doctors, and organizations that show up every single day.

This year's theme โ€” Ready. Set. Action! โ€” is a call to move from awareness to impact. And for us, that call has a name: Reshaping Lives: Full Circle.

This nationwide program from global care provider Mission Plasticos provides no-cost breast reconstruction to post-mastectomy women who are uninsured or underinsured. Volunteer surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists work together with surgery centers, corporate partners, and private donors to ensure every woman has access to a full journey of care, regardless of her economic situation. That kind of work โ€“ restoring dignity, expanding access, and closing the gap between those who have and those who donโ€™t โ€“ is public health in its most human form.

At TogoRun, we are proud to stand behind them. Our pro bono partnership means lending our voice, our strategy, and our platform to a mission that deserves to be heard. That is our action.
